That's exactly how it truly works. Look at ORAS, Hoenn was nostalgic to some and a new region to younger players even when it only focused on Gen 1-3 Pokemon. It sold at least 80% of the units XY has sold so far. A remake that took one year of development made at least 80% of the money XY sold... Stupidly easy money.
