Time really does fly.
Probably a fucking Pidgey, I dunno.
How am I supposed to remember a wild Pokemon encounter from over a decade ago?

>>28227986
Why else do you think that's the most beloved gen in /vp/? of course those kids will say something like, my first game was RBY but that's bullshit, no one who started with the first Gen would say something bad about it. Gen I is the most hated in /vp/, that's because Gen V tried and failed to be the new Gen I.
>>28227807
No, but who cares. It's a Pidgey or Rattata for anyone anyway.
>>28228115
"That's just the trouble with all you morons. You never want to discuss anything. That's the way you can always tell a moron. They never want to discuss anything intelligent"
-Catcher in the Rye
This lil guy
Thank god for programmed encounters so I don't actually have to use my memory
>>28228115
What do you get from lying on an anonymous website for autists
Red: Pidgey or Rattata. probably wasn't Spearow
I can actually remember Silver was Pidgey though. Called him "My First!" like a faggot kid
>>28227807
I think it was a Rattata, too bad I had no pokeballs, buit I cathed another shortly after. A good bro.
>>28228329
>"My First!"
So cute!
>>28227985
You always find a pidgey in XY as first encounter. It is scripted.
>>28228427
Yeah, but they're refering also maybe being a Ratatta like in the games they came from
I remember the first Pokemon I saw
Ponyta, the card from the Basic TGC Set

>no one who started with the first Gen would say something bad about it.
The thing is, Anon, that it is not hard to realize the various faults and issues with a game that is a product of its time.
Some people are capable of appreciating the various advancements in mechanics, engine, and style of the games over time, and as a side effect can't look back on the Gen I games without thinking 'hey, those feel really clunky and old these days'.
Gen I allowed for the series to gain its roots. It started the concept of Pokemon, and caused an entire genre to bloom, giving inspiration to many other series and franchises to come. The Pokemon are memorable and were the ones to introduce millions of people to the franchise.
However, the fact remains that Red and Blue are a product of their time and technological limitations. In comparison to the majority of newer games, they are lacking in the polish that the franchise would soon have.
You can't say that just because someone started with ___ they can't realize something bad about it. You can do that. It's not impossible.
>>28227807
lillipup
>>28227807
Pidgey, I think.
Pokemon Blue. Fat Pidgey in the mid-90s. Strange that I even remember that, but the games weren't big yet and it was such a change from any other games I'd seen as a kid.
>>28227807
I'm pretty sure its the pokemon you posted op.
Can't remember the experience, though.
>>28227807
kanto form pidove.
It was a Pidgey, and I was so happy to have it. Stayed on my team from beginning to end in Red.
I also kept that Pidgey you get in the beginning of XY all the way to the end, too. I love that line.
probably sentret or furret or something. Idk my brother owned all the gb games with yellow, red and all those. I think I started with crystal.
>>28227807
it's going to be mostly the same answers from people so what's the point?

Bidoof
I named him LALA
>>28232558
One hell of a first encounter
>>28227807
Bound to have been the Pikachu at the start of Yellow. Excluding that scripted encounter, Pidgey or Rattata, on account of my first game being Yellow.
Really it's just "flip a coin to determine which route1 shitmon you encounter in your first game" though.
>>28232558
Yeah that didnt happen
Shiny rattata in red. Also lol at all the underage pretending to have palyed gen one
I can still hear it in my head all these years later.
