Pancake Flatten or Crush Pancake would make more sense in all likelihood due to old sayings, but Pulverizing works just as well and yes, it is also likely due to alliteration, but probably due to the Japanese as well, since they have some stuff similar pun-wise due to Okonomiyaki.
