Rock and Bug both have Shuckle for 460 defenses alone. Rock has slow as dirt but hits like a truck Rampardos and MAero to pick up the slack on the speed whereas Bug has MHera and Ninjask
Dragon was never a contender for the top spot because they're all too well-rounded, even with a spike from every Mega they have.

For those who may not know, Showdown does actually have a search function that can organize pokemon via type, learned moves, highest stats,...tier if you're into that.


As soon as you go into team builder and "add pokemon," right under the search bar is a bar that lists Tier, Name, Types, Abilities, and then the Stats. They are intractable.

Wanna know the pokemon with the Highest Defense in the game? Click on the Def button.

Wanna know the which Water Type has the highest Special Attack? Click Types, apply the "Water Type" filter, and click the SpA button.

Wanna know which Fighting Type Pokemon can learn High Jump Kick, and which of those mons has the highest attack? Hit Types and apply the "Fighting" filter, Type "High Jump Kick" into the search bar and apply its respective filter, and click Atk.

Should make your organization of Highest Stat per Type much simpler.

Apply the respective "Type" filter and just click each stat.
