If you haven't already figured it out by now that you need to be judging the new Pokemon / Alola Forms by their in-game models instead of looking at the shoddy art, then you quite simply haven't been paying any attention. It should be obvious to everyone that the brunt of the effort is going into shit like animations and making the Pokemon have a lot of personality in-game.

I know it's weird, after six generations of middling to good art, to suddenly have to stop caring about the official art and start evaluating new Pokemon based on their in-game models, but that seems to be the shift Game Freak is making with Gen 7.

It has longer claws, too. But yeah I don't get why they did it. Maybe because the original art is more familiar?

Alolan has longer claws, different mouth, triangular teeth, shags on its ears and tail, different pattern on its stomach, and a more slender body. It's also bipedal in game.

And Yungoos evolves into Gumshoos which has the detective motif.

Yungoos vs Rattata is like cops and robbers.
