I didn't actually make those, I just made them compatible with the GBA (FR), that's how they sound in game.

Costa del sol is from FF and Few paths forbidden is from Seiken Densetsu if im not mistaken.

Primary version of Olivine city in Johto. This is the first city the player sees when he first arrives in Johto in the post-game.
Some tiles need to be updated, notably the beach's sand tile, but that's the general layout.

I put some palm trees because I wanted to give it a somewhat more "exotic" feel since it's the first city the player sees when he arrives to the new region. And with it being a seaside city it didn't necessarily feel out of place to me.

Johto is the post-game region because the main game takes place in Kanto, so it's a more natural progression than having any other random region instead.

Yeah I see what you mean about Costa Del Sol but it does it's job. I really like Few Paths Forbidden. All that's needed now is linking the patch with the songs now on Mediafire or something that doesn't require a sign up. Thanks a lot for going outta your way to do this for me. It's a personal thing. I'm just generally uninterested in playing with added fakemon. But what turns me off even more is evolutions or stuff like type edits and fake Megas. They seem to never work.

Just give me a new region with old pokemon or an updated experience in an old region. That's all I really want from a romhack. But that's just me so do what you want

I'm confused as to where the custom songs you made for me be? I know you listed 507-511 but the list of songs in the ini file is in hexidecimal. Are they just scrambled in there and I need to find them or are they the empty slots before the PMD Rescue Team Base song?

I'd say yeah. I'd much prefer playing a hack with a new map than new Pokemon. There's also the fact that I just don't like fakemon in general. They're usually exectuted badly. If there was a hack with a large amount of fakes I like I'd play it. Like, I probably only like 2 Pokemon in the e tire Uranium Dex and the mechanics sound dumb so I don't see myself playing that

I think the best approach is somewhere in the middle: just have it be over the standard two houses per town/city, but not *too* many. You can easily pull a Goldenrod and pad out the map with some unenterable houses, giving the impression that more people live there. At least, that's what my plan is with my maps.

I need to learn a lot about that so it'll take awhile for me to get the battle music down but from what I read Champion/Elite Four/Gym Leaders themes can't be swapped from what I read. I did read another way through XSE which allows for legendary pokemon to have different themes too so that's a plus.

That would depend on what you're using as a base. I know it's really easy in Gen II, you just go to the section that determines what music plays when a battle starts, create a new battle type (like how Suicune has its own battle type), and have the music function check if you're at that new battle type, and if so have it set the music to a certain song, then have it skip to the end of the function so it doesn't get overwritten.

So I'm working on a rom hack using the Emerald 650 base, and when I get to the part where Wally has to catch a pokemon, it gets stuck before his encounter begins. one the "...Whoa!" line of dialogue, to be exact.

Any clue what could be causing this? I did mess with the wild pokemon data in that route, but I assumed that as a special event it wouldn't literally rely on an encounter chance.

As a back-up plan, is there a way to just remove that whole event?

Haven't figured that out yet.
I do know that it would require adding the new attribute in PokeBattle_Pokemon and Making new readable parameter in the Pokemon PBS file.

This is assuming that you're just adding an "Ability 2", which is just another pool of abilities a pokémon can have.

You'd have to make clones of the ability scripts in PokeBattle_Pokemon.

Also, you'd have to include checks for those secondary abilities in the battle scripts for moves and the overworld.

I know this isn't a lot to go on, but I'll try to make it easier to do when I get to actually implementing them.
