I do like that the grass near the edge of the patch is shorter than in the middle. It's a nice little detail that makes it look more like an actual field.

My point is that of all the things you can get annoyed at in a Pokemon game, people get annoyed about grass, or following Pokemon, or something that has barely any relevance to anything else. Maybe the people in this thread weren't uncontrollably furious about it, but many gamers will find the stupidest things to get butthurt (eg Jarate in TF2, No Man's Sky/FFXV getting delayed, etc).
