Substitute or Encore on Mega-Alakazam as the fourth move ?
>>
>>28193023
I hate battle spots singles. It's usually some ching chong with a rocky helmet cresellia or some random balk toxic staller that always has me wondering why it has this move pool. Taunt/Knock Off help a lot but I feel like this format is a waste of time to learn.

Not sure on the fourth move leech seed for more heals, Skill Swap for shenanigans or a damaging move for coverage?
>>
Do Kingler or Whiscash have any feasible role in OU or monotype? Even if it's just a meme build?
>>

>>
>>28193137
Sadly Whiscash is really only a DD'er, I pray for the day he gets a mega with Simple

>>
>>28193100
I feel like substitute is safer, a bad predicted enccore and it's out
>>
>>28193137
>>28193162

I've messed around with Agility Sheer Force Life Orb Kingler a couple of times. Its hitting power is easily underestimated, but it doesnt last long.

Its not an ideal choice but not total dead weight either. I'd be hard pressed not to use Crawdaunt instead in a vacuum.
>>
>>28193100

Both are good. Encore helps deal with set up. Sub helps deal with Sucker Punch and Toxic/Para/Will-O. Up to you really.
>>
>>28193196
Does kingler learn something that crawdaunt not? movepool is the only reason i see for chosing it over crawdaunt

The 2 Teams I alternate in to at Battle Spot Doubles, most of them has the typical moves and items, Excadrill is Sand Rush Focus Sash, Belly Drum Azu, Weakness Aegis, HP Ice on rotom and Thundurus, AV Lando, Scarf Ttar
>>
>>28193232

Recover isn't great in Doubles and Confuse Ray is pretty bad. Maybe use Will O Wisp instead. Quash can be nice to help a partner out speed. Gravity can be useful as well.
>>
>>28193230
Not really. I haven't run numbers or anything though, but I'm pretty sure Crawdaunt is always going to win the damage game thanks to Adaptability.
>>
>>28193270

I agree. Crawdaunt is better. Adaptability + Swords Dance/Dragon Dance + Aqua Jet and Knock Off just destroys.

With a sand offensive core of tyranitar, excadrill and bisharp how the hack can i deal with skarmory? Is it worth making a special Ttar for giving him thunder bolt or it isn't going to the shit due to the sand boosted defenses of steel birb?
>>

I assume you're talking about regular Metagross and not the Mega.
Assault Vest is nice on it. Adamant nature.
Zen Headbutt, Meteor Mash, Earthquake, Bullet Punch. Ice Punch can be a nice option as well.

Not really, its pretty bad. Maybe you can try a Choice Band to hit things somewhat hard. It gets some strong moves like Double Edge, Jump Kick, Megahorn, Earthquake I think?

For example, Ghost is weak to Ghost and Dark so you could use a Sableye, which isn't weak to either and can deal with both pretty decently.

in dubs you want only enough defense to take an attack you need to, when I used sableye in vgc a couple years ago i built it to survive a burned mega-mawiles play rough, then the rest into special bulk.

For items leftovers is shit, get a mental herb, sitrus or sash.

viable moves are: fakeout, WoW, encore, night shade, foul play and to a lesser extent taunt snarl and confuse
>>

Improve my dubs team
Most sets are fairly standard, Hydreigon has LO and Protect over Specs and Gardevoir is a modest one with just enough speed to outspeed Bisharp, a full 252 in Sp. Att, and the rest in defense and HP.

Even though Thunder Wave is my only method of speed control, I've been fairly successful with this team so far.
>>
So um, anyone here who can give me tips for a balanced ghost team? I dont know how to build any good teams so explanation for your choices would be great
>>
>>28198444
When i was new at teambuilding i followed te same scheme for every team - 2 attackers 2 special attackers 1 defender 1 special defender

Being a monotype use as much variety of your movepool as you can and have something against your weaknesses
>>
>>28198151
What about energy ball or dazzling gleam on my zam?

Also, what else would I need? Is a stealth rock setter as important as the memes imply?
>>
>>28198698
Most people like to run Focus Blast and Shadow Ball for coverage.

But you seem to be quite invested in these "memes", so try your hardest not to listen to me.
>>
>>28198444
Monoghost doesn't have many options. Most ghosts are either frail, or slow, and there aren't really any good physical attackers. Basically you want to try to abuse your access to will-o and try and cover up your knock-off and sucker punch weakness (colbur berry can sometimes be pretty good).

Mega-sableye is basically mandatory. Gengar and chandelure are go-to special attackers. Jellicent, trevenant, cofagrigus and dusclops are good walls. And Doublade and Golurk are probably the best physical attackers.

Start with those and experiment. It'll be hard but you can definitely have some fun with it.
>>
>>28198863
Shadow ball goes without saying.

I was serious stealth rock, I see it mentioned alot, is it really such a necessity?
Also, what are some good, retard proof defensive mons?
>>
>>28198950
Don't listen to the retard, look at this previous posts and you'll realize his advice is worthless.
>>
Is Battle Maison considered competitive?

I need help at super singles. I keep losing when I get to the 40 something and the veterans start to appear.
Last night in battle 46 a female Veteran sent out Articuno first. My lead is M-Salamence, so I switched.
>mfw Articuno used Sheer Cold and it hit
Chansey never had a chance. Salamence got a hit but died, then Chesnaught was able to take Articuno and Regirock down, but unfortunately the last pokémon was Suicune...

Should I just get a lead Kangaskhan?
>>
>>28198950
yes, setting up stealth rocks and para/sleep/poisoning your opponent is good too. i mainly use smeargle and klefki as leads to set up. really good pokemon honestly, just if you use smeargle make sure to run it with a focus sash because it has really bad bulk.
>>
>>28199457
My lead that got me to 151 wins was LO Greninja with Surf, Ice Beam, Grass Knot, HP Fire. The Maison doesn't know how to deal with Greninja.

I had Toxistall phys. def Gliscor and AV Scizor in the back to have both reliable switch-ins and sizable offense that doesn't make every game take a long time to slog through.

I lost at 152 to a misplay, since I Grass Knotted a Specs Clawitzer that OHKO'd with Aura Sphere (I didn't know Clawitzer was lightweight enough to take the hit), when my play should have been Gliscor since the Maison doesn't predict (Aura Sphere was used because Greninja is Dark). After I lost Greninja and beat Clawitzer, a DD Gyarados was able to beat me.
>>
>>28199493
Is it feasible to acquire a Smeargle with all the meta moves without cheating though?
>>
>>28199573
Hmm isn't Greninja fragile as fuck? Salamence has some bulk but despite that Rock Slide users still get to it.
>>
>>28193137
What about Hydration/Rest on a rain team?
Wiscash seems pretty bulky, and as Anon says, Dragon Dance + Earthquake make for good times.
>>
>>28199606
oh, definitely. it's not that hard either, just make sure to breed a smeargle with a jolly/timid nature and get something like spore, stealth rock, spikes, and toxic spikes if you're going for set up lead
>>
>>28199626
Greninja is fragile yeah, but it's the most efficient sweeper since for most of your games, Greninja can solo teams, and usually OHKOs mons.
>>
>>28193111
This, also being forced to use only 3 pokemon sucks
>>
>>28199626
yeah greninja is really fragile but i use him a lot in wifi battles, (not the guy you replied to btw). if you wanna know my set its: Greninja @ Life Orb

Gunk Shot
HP Fire
Ice beam
Dark Pulse

you dont need a water move on greninja if you have another pokemon that can cover that, but i'd run hydro pump over hp if you want to run water on ninja frog, also greninja is one of the best mixed sweepers in the game right now so i'd use it on alot of teams
>>
>>28199671
>>28199732
Well I might give Greninja a shot then. I'll keep Chansey and Chesnaught though, they have been very good.
>>
>>28199865

What do people think of this team:

Darmanitan - Glass cannon nuke
M-Blastoise - Spinner and has good coverage
Tyranitrar - Lasts longer than darmanitan
Heatran - Talonflame check + coverage
Clefable - speed control+ fairy coverage
Umbreon - Wish passer

Heatran is probably the least useful member considering Ttar can check talonflame as well, clefable is the MVP because this team is pretty slow and t-wave helps with that.
>>
The no priority plz set:
>Sturdy + Shell Smash + Stat Raising Berry
>Focus Sash + Shell Smash
>Pray that they don't have priority
>Sweep?
I really like doing this with crustle + leichi berry
>>
>>28200020
Looks like it has trouble with Water types, but nice otherwise.

Make the Tyranitar Scarf so you can Pursuit trap and check big threats like Mega Pinsir.

You might be a bit weak to Lando-T actually too. So I'd look into a sturdy Grass type if I were you.
>>
What are the biggest threats in the meta atm?
>>
>>28200104
Which meta are you talking?
>>
>>28200104
Greninja, starmie, gengar, M-ttar
>>
>>28200076
Interesting, I'll probably try out tangrowth in place of heatran based on this advice. The Ttar is scarfed and I have had trouble with bulky water types like vaporeon.
>>
>>28200177
>>28200020
Seems a bit weak to Mega Venusaur teams honestly.
>>
>>28200213
This. What about Latios in over Heatran or Tangrowth?
>>
>>28198918
This anon has the right idea.

I'd also reccomend lead froslass. It can usually taunt or outright kill other leads and take out a second poke with destiny bond. Worked amazingly on my mono-ghost
>>
>>28200291
what specific role can latios fulfill, I hadn't considered it because of it's weaknesses but the only weakness it shares with the team is the bug weakness with Ttar.
>>
>>28200507
Stronk Meteors and the fact it resists a decent number of weaknesses your team has

Latias is a more defensive option with shit like Tailwind if you want that.
>>
Join our room in showdown!
It's called ThePeoplesChamp
:)
>>
>>28200588
That's great, I'll try out latias because of the higher defense and tailwind, which can really help remedy my team's poor speed.

Total 508
>175 HP for optimum 1/16 (leech seed, wrap, burn) damages.
>130 Speed for outspeeding Jolly Weavile(125basespeed) with 252ev speed.

Excadrill in sandstorm.
Speed x2.0(Sandrush). Level 50. ADAMANT
EV spread(All iv is 31)
>HP 176 > 207
