Make petitions, get large followings, write letters to the companies in charge, advertise your point, get people to agree with that point, be a leader.

Typically the best way to get something changed the way you want it is to organize it yourself.

But speaking seriously, the game is probably almost done, and theyre releasing in both america and japan at the same time, so the models most likely wont be censored, but the text will be in some places.

All Pokémon games are handled by TPC itself. Not only that, but the games themselves are rated A, meaning that absolutely no sexual/violent content is allowed whatsoever. There's nothing to change. It's like trying to make Doraemon kid-friendly, what left is there to do?

Guys, XY literally was about a psychopat who was trying to make a GENOCIDE and kill almost all the people and Pokémon in the world, who DIED in the end.There are even cutscenes and bits of dialogue cut from the japanese version (like the scene after the activation of the Ultimate Weapon where Lysandre's hand moven between the rubbles or the "Shit!" spoken by one of the Team Flare girls).

SM must probably have more scenes with people DYING or hard language and probably even rape scenes.


Pokémon is getting darker and more mature, so the censorship must be harder with them.

I don't understand why there are always three different kinds of wrong people in these threads. It doesn't all seem like pretending to be retarded either.

Gambling was taken out of the game for Europeans as early as D/P. Japan was fine with gambling up until HG/SS, they still had slot machines. We had voltorb flip. Then in ORAS we had Mauville completely taken out, probably because they couldn't make a satisfactory compromise between giving every region the same content and censoring only Europe, while occasionally having America get hit with the backlash.

There's tons of "localization changes" that avoid any kind of sensitive material. Religious symbols(even the most tame of them, like spiritual beads), any references to drinking, and several instances of smoking all have been removed from the games since Gen 1. Even back in Gen 5 we had Lerona have to change her outfit because she might not sit well with people thinking she's racist.

Have none of you really heard of shit like the Jynx controversy? Censored TCG art? 4kids in general?

We shouldn't be worried about censorship as much as we should worry about how gamefreak will plug this game up with terrible, old dead memes. It will happen, watch it.

I should mention that PC games are exempt, same as with Steam and, I assume, Origin and similar services. They don't have be rated by CERO/ESRB/PEGI, etc. for some reason, but console games do. That's why you see, for example, VNs getting ported to consoles removing the sex scenes, when they're perfectly fine on PC.

You're arguing against an entirely different post or argument then. I never said it was the worst thing in the world. I didn't bring up things like the nazi symbolism being censored in Registeel's sprite and TCG art. I can rationalize necessary censorship like that because it creates nothing but problems and no benefits being left in. I'm saying it shouldn't just be ignored because it actually does affect things. Half the reason a ton of people still even care or collect the TCG anymore is the artwork. If Magmortar was my favorite Pokemon and it got that cool-ass artwork in this set, then I buy the card online in English and it's this shitty new artwork, I'd be pretty upset even if I don't play the TCG at all. That's directly impeding on my enjoyment for absolutely no goddamned reason besides "well it kinda looks like he's pointing a gun at you" when his arms are fucking cannons. It's that type of unnecessary censorship that people should be aware of and have all the reason to speak out against.
And sure, I'll use /v/'s slippery slope fallacy here.
