It's not really a debate of which is better overall, it just depends on the person. I've got long, narrow fingers so the XLs just work better for me, and I also have extremely fucked up eyes so the larger screen is more tolerable. I've tried class DS, DS lite, DSi xl, and regular 3ds as well and only the xl's don't give me hand problems, eye problems, or both.

I have the Zelda New 3DS one that was released last year. Took me a while to get used to the bigger size. Going back to a regular 3DS makes it feel so tiny. Hate that you have to unscrew to get to the SD card though.
