All RPGs have proper sizes for the monsters except Pokemon. The only reason Electrode worked was because the Itemball in gen 1 and 2 had a colossal sprite.
They got way smaller from gen 3 and on, and Foongus being tiny as fuck was perfect in gen V.

Either as an evo, a Mega Evolution or some other new form. Has slightly different stats, coloring and ability based on your balltism. Stays true to the concept of the Voltorb line and would give a lot of variety.

But Ditto isn't readily available in the wild. I always figured genderless mons naturally "reproduce" through other means. Voltorb are all Pokeball factory errors, Cryogonal are born from clouds, Minior is formed from space debris, Carbink is formed like a diamond, most others are artificial or ayylmaos, etc.

Although now that I think about it, that actually makes them perfect candidates for regional variants because there's no need for natural selection. There could easily be Rock/Ghost Golurk made of stone rather than clay, or Grass-type Voltorb made from a failed attempt to mass produce and corner the market on Apricorn Balls.
