It's been in development since 2014 but bigger steps were made in the last 2 months ago.
Still no progress by the devs on JIT or using more than one core or buggy pokemon related crashes though (unfortunately it took almost a month for the CRO++ PR to get merged - that's the one which let the original Citra play Pokemon but the Baidu builds have been able to emulate ORAS for months using that PR) or anything on the XY not working at all front (apparently it boots and you can get in game but it gets stuck at the mirror and in subsequent events after that)

does anyone have a tutorial for patching the clean rom from the piratebay link?

Most DLL errors are fixed by downloading the relevant dll off a website as a zip folder or a .dll and not an exe, ignoring their retarded advice on 'how to fix your computer' and putting it on the relevant folder (usually C:\Windows\System32 but do a google to make sure it's the right folder)

I'm running a i7 6500U duo core. I'm not sure if anyone can emulate faster but some of Kazo's videos are apparently extremely fast 'realtime' and on an i3 skylake so perhaps having a single core with higher clock speed is actually better than falling for the i7/5 meme.

But what I do is reconfigure my GPU like this (it's a shitty NVIDIA and GPU only contributes about 1-2 FPS).

Then I disable Citra's audio (not sure if that's placebo) and furthermore I disable the screen rescaling. Then I go into task manager and set processor priority to Realtime.

According to wwylele Citra can only utilise one core. My CPU usage hovers at roughly 47% which kinda suggests it. Some folks on Baidu apparently squeezed out more juice with an overclock.

So I think what wwylele (original dev) is saying is that because it's trying to emulate the 3DS which basically only uses one core, Citra is kinda screwed as it can't really use more than one in itself unless parts of those instructions are run through multiple cores at once (multithreading).
