I drift in an out of this place. I normally post for a month or so (though I've stuck around longer than usual this time, I should quit soon) then leave for 4-5 months, then come back. Sometimes its spurred by new games, sometimes its me just getting back into old games.

Honestly this board has very little going for it outside leak season and the few months after a new release, so what are you really missing when you're not here?

sigh.. I hang out and bang my head against the wall until leaks are revealed or new information comes out. If it wasn't for leaker-chan I'd be out. This place is filled with children and is probably the most normie out of all the boards.

I only come here because there is no better place to discuss Pokemon without dealing with underage children and power tripping moderation. That said I do feel out of place here since the dominate taste on this board is the exact opposite of mine when it comes to which Pokemon it's "okay" to like and since I'm more interested in the world-building than pokegirls or competitive threads that appeal to me are rare.

I'm sick of /vp/ as it is, since it's leak season and all the cancer that comes with.

My usual retreat is Showderp until it blows over, but it's all still been taking a toll on me. My favorite time to be on here is mainly when the game is very close to coming out or has come out not that long now so people like SciresM and other anons extract stuff like datamines or pic related, which I made my laptop wallpaper.

It's the worst board that I still visit. I'm here because there's a chance I'll find news here that I don't actively seek out, for the TCG and some game discussion. But it was a terrible idea making a board for something that is uninteresting for fairly long periods of time. Everything here works fine as generals on other boards, but the fanbase can become so terrible that it legitimately needed to be contained.
It needs stricter moderation. Also seems to attract cross-posters of the worst kind, so it gets a little bit of bad from a bunch of boards. To top it all off, it's a pretty slow board, so you're stuck with uninteresting shit for too long.

Another problem is that there are like 10 to 15 general threads taking up the board space which makes discussion even more hard to find, but I guess that is a consquence of having a Pokémon aka not much shit to talk about besides hype seasons, so that may never be rectifiable. There are at least some areas that can be improved on but unless proper moderation is elected then this board will continue to go down the drain.

/vp/ was comfy for about a year from 2010 to 2011 in the B/W days. Then the hoenn babies from Reddit swarmed in because of HOENN CUNFURMED!!! and the board has yet to recover since. It's in fact reached new lows thanks to Pokémon GO attracting an influx of newfags and underage, and worst of all normalfags who have no business being here.

I remember when very VERY good drawfags used to come to drawthreads. Now they don't even want to acknowledge this place exists. It's a hostile enviroment despite the media franchise it's supposedly attached to.

I agree in that, but would you expect if:
1. Shitposting starts from the first reply, removing any chance for discussion,
2. At least 70% of posts are shitposting, pornposting, tailsposting, etc,
3. For that reason, with no chance at all to post either fresh art or having topic-related discussion, threads easily reach bump or image limit.
4. And they think it's fun to open like 5 threads more stating "No shitposting allowed", like calling for it.

Without that overly dedicated shitposting, threads are actually tolerable. You could see it, after moderation, threads could actually have some discussion on them.
