Question /vp/
In the pokemon games.. when your 'mons are hit with an effect that sharply, harshly, or in any way lowers their stats like attack, special attack, defense or special defense, how long do these stat increases or decreases last?
If I'm hit with something that lowers my attack and defense, and I switch the pokemon out with another...and then switch it back into combat again, is the stat reduction still present?
Likewise if I'm hit with something that reduces my special defense or something, and that 'mon is KO'd...but I revive it later in battle, is the special defense stat still lowered?
Do these increases/decreases to stats last the entire battle? or after a certain amount of turns they wear off?
On an unrelated note...Can Stantler ever be competitive?

Stat modifications like that last as long as the pokemon is on the field. If you call them back and send them out again later, the stat mods will be gone.
They also disappear when battle ends in any case.

No.

Stantler can't. As for deer though sawsbuck was viable for a quick second in gen 5 as a chlorophyll sweeper

No. Maybe a Normal/Psychic Mega with decent bulk, Serene Grace and Paraflinch Zen Headbutt

yes. you can min-max it to only be usefull at narrow oppurtinities, so jut make sure the rest of the team is one where one of the team's weakneses can be covered by stantler.
