ITT: moves you recently learnes exist
>>28142668
>triple kick
Seriously when did anyone thought this was a good move
Quash
>>28142668
>wonder room
>>28142687
>Mexican
>>28142668
Ion Deluge.
>>28142668
>Introduced in Gen 1
>Recently learned existed
Oh yeah that's right, your childhood games were Black and White, you weren't even born when Gen 1 came out.
>>28142687
Check out Hitmontop's moveset for Gen 2. It's its best move it can get without breeding. 60BP STAB without any heavy restrictions is amazing for Gen 2 standards.
>>28142806
Only OMANYTE, OMASTAR, CLOYSTER and CORSOLA learn it. Only by level up, and pretty much only at their 40s.
>Rototiller raises the Attack and Special Attack stats of all Grass-type Pokémon in the battle by one stage.
>>28142822
>60BP STAB
For fighting I guess. Return, Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Surf, Ice Beam, and Earthquake say hi
>>28142806
>>28142693
Came here to post this
>>28142806
>Move literally only 3 pokemon learn
>2 Gen 1 mons, 1 Gen 2 mon
>Never used in competitive ever
>Lol you're a unovabortion for not knowing this move exists
>>28142856
Take a guess why Fighting was such an unpopular type back then. Though it was the only type to effectively take on Snorlax.
>>28142806
Why are Unovabortions the strawmen for everything still when we have a new generation in front of them
>>28142850
So is this a triggered by a physical attack sucker punch
>>28142905
Because that anon in particular probably just has a hateboner for Gen 5, so everytime he thinks someone is underage he automatically assumes they're a unovabortion
It's like the people who'll tell you you hate whatever gen they like and like whatever gen they hate if you disagree with them
>>28142942
Gen 5 was made to apeal (a bit more) to older people. X and Y were made for kid's first games. It doesn't make sense logically.
>>28142965
hateboners override all logic.
>>28142965
I'm 28. I liked more XY.
I know, I've issues. But AEGISLASH.
>>28143015
They actually have good designs, but they feel so unfinished/rushed/half assed. Gen 6 is wasted potential everywhere.
Sorry, my autism is showing
>>28142687
technician boost nigga.
>>28143070
The region itself felt short, but most Pokemon were cool. That's why I liked it more, since Gen V doesn't have many mons I actually like.
>Telekenisis
Was just playing a Randomized Pokemon Y and now I've had that move used against me multiple times by a Kadabra and an Alakazam. Apparently it makes the opposing Pokemon levitate in the air, making them immune to all ground moves, and also, for the next 3 turns, makes all moves guaranteed to hit them, except OHKO moves.
>>28142850
You would have to have not seen the Turtonator trailer to not know this move exists. It's barely even a few weeks old.
>>28143406
It's the most recent move I learned exists.
>>28143406
Ally Switch. And it's a TM. Why is this even a thing?
>>28142965
>It doesn't make sense logically.
You're on 4chan, a place where people have been known to actually coerce people into committing suicide live for their own amusement, a place where people use the word "autistic" even when it makes no fucking sense, a place where some of the most commonly used words are derogatory terms. Logic is nonexistent in this hellhole.
>>28143466
>he doesn't know about the spooky shuffle

ITT: Casuals
>>28142668
Misty's Corsola in the anime had it. The only surprising thing should be that it's normal type.
>>28142687
Nigga, that move boosted with Focus Energy and Technician made a Hitmontop I rented on Battle Factory to win for a whole streak without almost using another Pokemon.
>>28142668
I would say Rototiller, almost outside of Monotype runners nobody use more than one Grass-type on their team and is worse because that move can't be learned by ACTUAL GRASS-TYPES OUTSIDE OF PARAS AND CACNEA, BOTH OF THEM LEARN THE MOVE BY BREEDING and is only relevant on Doubles or Triples. Just stick with Growth which do the same and during Sunny Day/Drought Growth doubles the stat boost
>>28142858
>he never used a Cloyster
That's your problem Anon
>>28142668
>Stealth rock
I mean I never really payed attention to what Roark was doing as I was just spamming the move Bubblebeam from my Piplup, I didn't know it existed until recently.
>>28144504
>probably one of the most used moves ever
>piplup learning bubblebeam before the 1st gym
this is how you spot the new friend
Rock wrecker
>>28144373
Damn right. Newfags too.
>>28142693
>>28142868
Quash + Prankster tho
Forest's Curse/Trick or Treat.
Can't believe we've had triple type Pokemon for 3 years and I didn't know.
>>28143387
Speaking of obscure moves and the Abra line, fucking Kinesis.
>only learned by Kadabra and Alakazam as a starting move beginning with Yellow, in RBG it's completely unobtainable without trading
>without relearner, only Kadabra on Route 8 in Yellow and GSC will have this move naturally
>best of all, Kinesis is literally Sand Attack with 80% Accuracy
>>28144752
Are you retarded?
Randomly found out what Freeze Shock is during an AG battle with a shitcunt.
Was looking for moves in the vein of Forest's Curse and Trick or Treat when I found Electrify. Only Helioptile and Heliolisk learn it and it makes the target's attack an electric type.
>>28148157
Couldn't you say the same for High Horse Power and Solar Blade?
>>28142668
Weird... I knew this moves existed but I always thought Beedrill learned it
>>28142856
>Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Surf, Ice Beam
>35 Spa
>>28147522
Can you stack them for quadruple type?
>>28148676
Nope. The third type will get overwritten
>>28149450
>he doesn't know Citizen Snips
>>28142806
More likely his first games were Diamond and Pearl, like the majority of this board.
>>28142905
I'm assuming it's a joke involving OP's attempts to evolve Luvdisc into an Alomomola when he 'was a kid'
>>28143322
X&Y have a lot of problems, but it was overall the best new batch of mons since gen III.
>>28149590
That's Buttscab, not Topkec.
>>28142668
Beat Up
>>28149679
>not knowing about beat up Whimsicott and Terrakion in doubles
baka desu senpai
>>28149574
No one started with DP and continued liking the series
>>28147610
Piplup learns bubblebeam at level 18
Piplup evolves at level 16
>>28149864
Some actually did and that's why this board is at its lowest point in quality and taste right now, people who started with DP are in the average age group of people who browse /vp/.
>>28142668
I knew you were an underaged faggot, but just fuck off and die already.
Also this: >>28142806
>>28142873
Except OP is an underage newfag piece of shit, and plenty of us have known of its existence for many, many years.
>>28142905
It's not a strawman argument when we know that tripfag is one.
>>28142838
>>28142873
Lorelei's Cloyster uses that move, unovabortions BTFO'd once agan.
>>28149679
Confirmed for post-gen 2 babby.
Had no idea this thing existed. Had never used an Inkay, never paid attention to its movepool.
>>28149884
It's funny because what /vp/ consider nostalgic and muh childhood is to me where modern or "new" pokemon starts. Gens 1-2 are old school classics and I guess gen 3 would be some kind of middle ground. Too new for nostalgia, too old for modern.
>>28142846
I thought you were trolling. wtf this is real?
>>28142905
Gen VI was mostly Genwunners returning for their ebin new Charizard formes
>>28142846
Surprisingly I knew this move existed due to receiving like 5 sandshrews with it through WT.
>Razor Wind
Turn 1 charge, turn 2 80 BP Normal attack
>>28153806
>sticky web
newfag
>>28153743
It was a TM in gen 1, how the fuck did you not know about it?
>>28153806
wtf, this was literally everywhere when gen 6 was announced. Did you just start playing recently?
>>28153844
I spent all my money in Game Corner trying to get Porygon or something, I could never afford TMs.
>>28143809
Thems good eats
>>28144373
All of these newbs ruing my l33t pro-gamer Pokemon discussion
>>28142846
When I first learned about this move I got excited because I thought you could set it like a hazard and that any Grass type switching in would get the boost.
Mirror shot and rolling kick.
>>28142668
Octozooka
Poison gas. It's funny because of how shitty of a move it is. After 3 buffs it's still worse than toxic, unless you want to inflict normal poison on multiple pokemon in doubles.
Back in gen 1, it was literally poison powder, an already shitty move, but 20% less accurate
>>28142668
>Follow Me
Going to start playing competitively in Sun and Moon. Having to learn about doubles because it has become the standard for PW. Learning about all kinds of crazy new moves and strategies.
any tips for a full ground rock and steel team for doubles?
I didn't know about tackle lol!
I'm such a newfag nerd XD!
>>28154649
Storm drain Cradily or Gastrodon
>>28154733
wouldn't suction cups be better since it prevents opponent from cycling me while i'm setting up?
>>28154733
holy fuck i could run cradilly quagsire and just spam surf and boost cradilly
We had a thread recently for literally who moves and some gold got posted. I can't blame you for not knowing about the event-only LITERAL EXACT CLONE of false swipe that less than ten pokemon can know, though.
Learned that this move existed due to receiving Happy Hour event Meowth.
>>28154841
And what about this move that does nothing? That only three pokemon can learn?
>>28154879
This move's purpose is to celebrate the player's birthday. And it *also* does nothing.
>>28153850
I don't play competitively
>>28154892
The king of obscure moves has to be Light Of Ruin, though. If you were on /vp/ during xy's datamining phase it really isn't all that obscure, to be fair, but the kicker is that it is impossible to get legitimately. It's a signature move for a mon that just never got a release. The only way to use this move is by injecting it.
>>28154750
No, phasing moves are relatively rare, especially in doubles.
Water attacks are way more common, and will give those pokemon way more survivability than a curse or whatever would.
If you are serious about getting into the metagame, you probably wouldn't want to boost at all. Doubles is hyper offensive cancer. Bulky mons are more for functionality like follow me, or switching abilities, or setting up weather or something
>>28155008
that sucks. well we'll see if that meta holds when sun and moon comes out.
>>28142846
Does it work on Sap sipper?
