PM don't really have the time to commit anymore, but most other anime aren't fansubbed anymore so I don't really know what you're talking about there. The ones that CR sometimes end up the same way as Pokemon or even worse, and even years ago before CR there weren't subs for everything either.

The problem for Pokemon is that outside of PM there's no one that wants to put the effort in to sub it, and even if they did PM's quality is pretty high so it would be hard to match it.

I was here because comfy adventure that redeemed the kalos region. I was never fully convinced Ash would win, though I was frustrated with the loss, at least my boy is making genuine progress.
The ride and memes are what kepts me going a lot of the time.
I've been juggling seasonal anime on the side so I've got quite a bit of stuff to watch each week. Rezero, Mob Psycho and Bananya in particular are my jams.

From this season i was watching Mob Spycho 100, Days, that show of a dad with her daughter and a student lusting for him and yugioh. The key point here is she WAS directionless and devoid of any joy in her life. Ash has given her that, not through being a love interest, but being a role model. Her watching Ash fight his battles, and lose but get up again, has been the encouragement she needed to do something with herself.

That's why when Ash got depressed in Snowbelle she got mad at him. She was watching her role model crumble under the pressure, and that in turn disheartened her. Watching him bounce back because of her words gave her hope that her dreams could be accomplished.

It most certainly is character development if she's happy when Ash leaves. In your scenario, with her being sad and returning to where she was before the whole adventure began is the very definition of no development. She literally would be ending the show the same way she began, making her meaningless.

If she's okay with him leaving, it means she has grown and matured as a character, and overcome some of her flaws, although it will always be implied that there's still more work to be done to have truly conquered them.

Well, the dub has technically been dying since TPCi dumped the original dub crew for an even cheaper dub studio and then Wayland made the current cast even worse, Cathcart decided shoving alliterations and slang in the scripts by mid DP, and Goldfarb came along and began raping the music in XY, so it's been a constant decline for it...but I can see it going off the air entirely soon at the rate it's heading and how CN treats it makes it that much worse.
