That way it's limited to one mon, once per battle. Spore Jolteon might be broken as fuck, but if it can only be used once, it's less broken.

Smogon did an experiment for a month a while back. It was kinda stupid.

Spore or Dark Void + Prankster users kills everyone's fun.

Geonmancy, Shell Smash, Quiver Dance, or Shift Gear on fucking everything.

Recovery on all bulky walls, Regis still kinda suck but suddenly Cofagrigus with Recover counters many OU threats thanks to Mummy and being able to restore HP after getting hit.

Skill Swap Slaking s a nuisance but can be dealt with.

Anything with an -ate ability spams Extreme Speed and ruins everyone's fun again.

It was so bad they had to ban Mega Pinsir. Seriously, those -ate abilities ruin everything whenever they try to do an "any move" or "any ability" format.
