Same but with Conkeldurr. I often get criticized for having the "same" pokemon in my team but Machamp and Conkeldurr play out too differently even though they seem so similar at first glance

Unfortunately I am such a scrub the highest I ever got was 1300 and I am yet to find a team that could accommodate both of my bros.

I usually bait it with Machamp and land Stone Edge, if my Ferrothorn hasn't already paralyzed it or laid down SR to cripple it. I know Conkeldurr can definitely survive BB but that 20% miss chance on Stone Edge is pretty scary especially since I'm so used to No Guard

Conkeldurr IS a good Pokemon. Even more than good.

Conkeldurr manages to evoke Machamp without being a complete carbon copy.

See, whereas Machamp's proof of strength and bodybuilding are muscles, Conkeldurr's trademark is vascularity (used by some people as indicator of being fit). I also like how the vascularity doubles as its construction vest.

Notice how both lines start having more "artificial" objects as they progress, most obvious at the middle stage, with Machoke having a "belt" and Gurdurr having a girder (Timburr has perfectly shaped timber, yeah, but it's still more natural to it).

At the final stage, they both double their weapons--Machamp develops 4 arms while Conkeldurr caries twice the amount of construction material.

Conkeldurr isn't supposed to look pretty, m8. It's supposed to look menacing, and it fits its overall theme. And as much as I like Machamp, what people say about strongman physique vs body builder is true. A strongman will not have as defined muscles as bodybuilders, because the latter prefer to have them defined and ripped for show, but the former need bulk for function, and the strongmen are the true powerhouses, hence Conkeldurr having higher offenses than Machamp.

I was looking to do it on cart like other tournaments I've seen done here in the past. What I really wanted at the time was feedback on what people think is too op to be allowed. That way we could nail down the rules and start setting up the promotions and see what people would want for prizes (hax guys won't care but something to brag about is always nice), then the eventual set up of matches and reporting.

I suppose M-Lucario, SB Blaziken in General. Then you have folks like Hawlucha and Gallade being problematic due to their type advantage, especially since Hawlucha is fast.

I'd suggest keep ONLY fighting type moves but that still doesn't answer the problem when using it against those that resist the type (Heracross, Toxicroak) or those that are weak against it (Terrakion, Scrafty).

How about a "tag team wrestling" doubles where 3 of 4 must be pure fighting types to prevent a potential one-mon sweep due to type advantage?

I was thinking like most regular karate competitions where it's double elim. You get to lose twice before you're completely out. After a loss you go down to the loser bracket and keep going. So like in an 8 man 1 and 2 seed fight, winner goes on and fights the winner of 3 and 4. The loser of 1 and 2, and 3 and 4 fight this'll carry on a while.
