We post our current in game teams
Theta Emerald, about to wreck Flannery's shit in.
I'm a little salty because yesterday afternoon that Absol was a Lileep, Whirlipede was a Scolipede, and I was on Route 120 with a solid team of mid-30s.
It's a fun hack though, I'm glad I started it. This is the first team in ages where I haven't used my starter (traded Grovyle out back in Fallarbor)

I ran Nuzleaf/Shiftry in the first half of my Sacred Gold run. Great early game, became dead weight a bit after Morty, then started kicking ass again after learning Leaf Blade.I hope he doesn't die on you

Just beat Wattson in ORAS, my team is:
Marshtomp
Gloom
Loudred
Currenyt Fire Red Omega team.
I was supposed to play two 1G pokemon, 2 2G and 2 3G but I didn't want type overllaping and the POkemon I can use (so that I never used) are trash in this game, like Forretress.
OR: Mono Grass Edition
I'm about to tackle Mt. Pyre.
Sceptile (Mega: Dragon)
Breloom (Fighting)
Tropius (Flying)
Roserade (Poison)
Shiftry (Dark)
Ludicolo* (Water)
I'd say this is a pretty good team overall, but the game is still challenging. Sceptile is really the biggest holdup because he has such a terrible level-up moveset similar to Greninja. He learns almost all physical attacks yet has better special attack. Leaf Blade, Dual Chop, Pursuit, etc.
I wanted to replace Shiftry from the beginning but after learning Extrasensory he is really helpful for Poison types. After he evolved he got a big strength boost too, good moveset as well. Running Rock Tomb early on was a great choice for flying types. I want to catch a Phantump and evolve it after I catch/kill Groudon for similar coverage and because I like Trevenant better, but we'll see. Cottonee might also replace Roserade, which I spent a lot of time getting. Getting the evolutionary stones (3 total) means I had to beat all of the super training which includes maxing EVs on Breloom first.
*I had to GTS trade in a Lotad because Ludicolo is the ONLY Grass Pokemon available in the game that can learn Surf/Waterfall, which are required. Take note, mono grass players. Use AS so you don't have to trade for him.

Cool stuff anon,
I did one recently with Sceptile, Shiftry, Cradily, Roserade, Cacturne, and Breloom
It was fun but definitely hit some roadblocks with bad movepools and coverage

Considering doing a mono bug run in BW and this sounds pretty fun

Is using Latios to soar "cheating" in a monotype run? I didn't plan on doing it, but replacing Tropius for something else we mentioned could be cool. Tropius is my bro, though.

I keep tropius and ludicolo around for hm stuff but I've never considered using other Pokemon for hms or travel as breaking the rules really since there's some types that can't learn certain hms
