I've played every generation of Pokémon (some more than once) and the only shiny I've ever seen was a Haunter in Y three years ago. Caught it.

Latios took 4 days of RE's, Azelf took like 6 hours of SR's.

My goal is to have all non-shiny locked Legends Shiny that aren't Latias

The Ditto would be lvl 30 instead of lvl 50 in Friend Safari, but hunting in friend safari is less stressful than using the Pokeradar.

The base shiny rate in FS is 1/512 I think, while a Pokeradar chain of 40 is 1/200. The shiny charm doesn't work in Friend Safari.

The hardest part would be finding someone in friend safari with a ditto willing to add you, since people with ditto are usually bombarded by everyone else.

It's probably one of the easiest ways in terms of work/stress-to-shiny radio. Pokeradar and Masuda Method have better rates, but they require more work, too.

I've fished through 2 LotR movies and gotten a streak of 78 and still haven't found anything. Excluding things like Rage Lake's Gyarados the only 2 other wild shinies that I've ever even seen were chain fished and I got both after 12 casts in separate chains.

I think my adversity to Quick Balls is that they're everywhere because they're so useful. Honestly if the bottom of the ball was, say, black or something and the ball wasn't the same throughout it would look really sweet.

Have you considered a Lure Ball? Depending on the method you're going about using for it you might be able to move one up from HGSS. It's got a nice color scheme for Flygon. Lots of red, blue, and green.

Asking whether they'll be shiny when transferred to S/M is just a fallacy at this point. We factually cannot know how it'll work or if Gamefreak will even bother to implement it.
