Maybe you don't remember, but Diamond and Pearl are largely recognized as being superiorly inferior to Platinum to the point that Platinum saved Gen 4 from being seen as worst generation ever until HGSS gave a boost later on.

No platinum did nothing for the games. They were still trash that moves at a snails pace, with ugly starters. 2 fire types. Lucario. Worst characters. Worst legendaries. Edgiest legendary. Stupid concepts like Arceus.
The physical special split and leafeon are the single only 2 good things the game ever brought.

I liked DP, but locking out many of the new Pokemon until you beat the E4 was a fucking stupid ass decision.

I just want the music to be remastered. Sinnoh's songs should be great but the soundfont makes almost everything sound like pure shit.

Since they'd use the Gen 7 mechanics the battles shouldn't be so fucking slow. If they take the opportunity to change the range of Pokemon then maybe we can have actual type balance and sprinkle fire types around

I GUARAN FUCKING TEE that in 2019/2020, the DP remakes will have the 2 things that made Platinum better: an expanded pokedex and a faster game speed.

If I'm wrong, I'll post a WebM of me ejaculating on my NX (whatever its name ends up being).

ORAS did use the Rayquaza story from Emerald. But it didn't use Emerald's features or characters.

For a DP remake, I would expect GF to have three major elements from Platinum.

1. Platinum's Pokedex because they now know the importance of variety as shown in XY and SM.

2. There is no doubt they can't resist merging Looker into DP remakes even though he debuted in Platinum.

3. A post-game Giratina story like Rayquaza in ORAS.

I'm 26 and I still love DP. I admit that Pt is vastly superior and that yeah, likely a remake would just be DP with some added bonus content like Delta Episode.

I still love Gen 4 though and find Sinnoh to be the comfiest region, so I'm all for a remake, I'd have a lot of fun with it like I did Gen 4 years ago.

I enjoyed ORAS and will probably enjoy remake DP just the same. I never played Emerald or Platinum.
