I actually kinda liked Rock Climb, it's a logical move outside of battle and you can confuse your opponent during a battle
Cut has always been retarded, Flash even more so. I think you can beat DPPt without using Defog

Of all the regions, Sinnoh was by far the most forgettable to me. Much of what I do remember of it involves being annoyed by the over-reliance on HMs just to fucking get around.

I think it's because of all the different ways you can get around the region. Mt Coronet was fucking sweet, every time you had to pass through it, the game was always giving you a new path, or new tools to explore a previous path further. The dedicated snow path was nice, and down south with the marsh and rain is just downright cozy as shit.

Even if they aren't the best games, it's easily the best region.

8 HMs is too many, especially for what's probably one of the worst mechanics in a game. When you only get 24 moves out of all your Pokemon, having to dedicate them to moves only useful outside of battle kind of blows. Surf and Waterfall are decent, and you're probably going to have a Water type anyway, so I can give a pass on those, but Cut sucks as a move almost immediately after you get it, and things like Defog just don't feel very impactful.

It looks as though HMs might be going away though, seeing Pokemon just kind of do things is really nice. I've thought for a long time that it would be great if you just had a long list of Pokemon that could do X (such as Surf), and once you got whatever Gym badge you could just do it without needing to take up a move slot.

yee Sinnoh reminds me a lot of my home country (Wales). It has coal mines and mountains, and all the geography of the region fits together perfectly while still having variety, helps that the lore presented in the game is super interesting. Other great things include the relative difficulty, Barry and Cynthia's glorious tits
