The real reason is because not all of them have one and they are specific to idle stances and not battle stances. It's amazing how people can call this particular part of the game when all 700+ mons have amie and battle animations.

By the looks of it, you can swap pokemon on the spot, the backround is location based, and you can groom your pokemon.

Then you should know the team in charge of Amie is probably the interns that they don't want to give anything important like battle animations to. And that there is a very small budget for it tucked in the corner that won't do anything to any other part of the game if reassigned due to how microscopic it is.

Give special animations to more pokemon. Like the clapping thing only front line pokemon like starters get.

Do a little more with following the hand. They usually just stare blankly. Maybe tricks, get them to roll/fall over, tilt their head, or get excited and try to get it, like cats with pointers.

Make the decorating out of amie in amie. I want to see them sit on fluffy cushions.

Add toys. Like fetch kinda, throwing something and they catch it and throw it back. Trying to score a goal like soccer and they block it. Hide and seek. Etc

Dress up and do moves like you see in contests where the moves aren't for battling but displaying. Almost like practice. That'd be cute.

I just want more interaction with the actual pokemon. The games feel more disconnected and there's so little to do since the face recognition is so unpredictable.

lol as if a big reputable francise would make interns responsible for anything other than menial support tasks. secoundsly small budget is bullshit, those are good and polished animations and tons of them for nearly 1k pokemon. they are not worse than battle animations or anything, they are just as polished maybe even more.

Why do people keep asking for overly elaborate animations during battles? That's stupid. People complained about how long Gen 4's took and Gen 6's are surprisingly nice and snappy.
Genius Sorority's battles took fucking forever since it takes 10 minutes every turn.
