I feel like the only way to salvage Ariados with a mega would be giving it the Beedrill treatment but that'd be redundant.

Drop the Flying for something else and have it grow too big to fly.

I feel like Ariados is supposed to be not shit but they just didn't think it through

Really a stat boost/redistribution would be better, the design is already damn good

Give it an extra 40 speed and either 20 more attack or 10 more attack and 10 more HP and then we can talk. Fuck, maybe even an extra 50 speed, it's looks like a quick-y pokemon

its base speed is 40, it'd need WAY too much point investment to make it usable fast. it'd need prankster or just huge amounts of bulk and some new donut steel ability

They gave some Pokémon stat buffs in Pokémon X and Y. They were all only by +10 for one base stat aside from Pikachu, but they could go further if they do it again.
