Gen V's leaders would be pretty hard to forget, though, considering most of them took an active role in the plot and the Striaton trio had the Shadow Triad thing surrounding them. It helps that one of them was a main character in the anime.

most of g4 was pretty memorable. g3, g5 and g6 had much bigger issues. g1 only gets a pass for being the original and thus nigh unforgettable, but g2 and g4 were some of the only ones that had sensibly thematic gym leaders.

Of all the rock leaders, Roark being a coal miner is far more memorable than brock being a shirtless guy, roxanne being a school girl, or Grant having zero identifying features despite being a rockclimber making sense.

Yeah Gardenia's probably the most forgettable of that bunch.

Maylene makes a hell of a lot more sense than Brawly.

Crasher Wake is mostly memorable for being so goofy, still more distinct than say Juan or Wallace, but maybe less so than Misty or Marlon.

Fantina does take kind of a backseat to the others this gen.

Byron being Roark's dad and an iron worker as well as the only steel gym leader other than Jasmine makes him pretty distinct.

Candice's design wasn't as evocative of ice but the town itself as well as her friendship with Maylene being reflected in her team made her a more distinct than say Wulfric, or Brycen.

Volkner's kind of unremarkable.

All in all they definitely needed better gyms though. If there really does end up being a sinnoh remake and it has gym designs on par with BW2's or XY's I'll be more than pleased.
