If you are gonna use on 3DS make sure you have not updated the firmware, if on DS install wood r4 firmware,you need a a microsd card . YouTube is a great resource for set up tutorials. Enjoy

I own a Sky3ds+ and it's amazing. Drag and drop 3ds roms, no fucking around, just a great piece of tech.

I've owned/bought 3 (gave two as birthday gifts). The best part is that you can play online with the roms and their saves are generated right on the cart so you can backup and clone with ease.

Also the sky3ds works with the most current firmware and has never had an issue with a firmware release.

It crashes regularly. Some games don't work for it but I'm pretty sure all the 4th gen and 5 gen games should work.

I was thinking about buying a flashcart soon too, mostly for Pokemon games and rom hacks. I'll probably be using it for my DSi XL. Can anyone tell me which is the best and if it can trade between normal Pokemon games and use cheat codes? I'd like to cheat in some event items and get some "legit" legendaries.

Same as >>28029600 tbhwy. I had the same R4 Gold for ~5 years, only recently I got another one, though it was a gift, a R4 Gold Pro from 2015. Unless you edit your saves every 5 minutes and never remove the card properly from your computer, I don't think you are at risk of getting fucked over.
Also, as a bonus, I'm surprised that my current one works on my 3DS, having updated it before and all, which is very convenient considering my DSi recently died.

Only piece of advice that I've got for OP is that you make sure you download your ROM files from reputable sources, or your card's gonna get fucked over.

Would you say the R4i Gold is suitable for a DSi XL? Or are there better cards out there? Do you think it would be suitable to use for mainly Pokemon ROM hacks, cheat codes and trading between actual genuine DS Pokemon games? I ask because I want to use the flashcart to cheat in some event items and other shit and trade them between my other Pokemon games, and also just to play any DS game I want for fun, as well as ROM hacks.
