For fuck's sake, people have been wanting HMs removed for years and now they're doing it.

They are putting in the work and testing the waters for replacing HMs with Soaring and things like that. The engine is finally to scale and allows Pokemon to be displayed in the overworld but it will take a lot of time and resources.

Its Game Freak. Give them time. Decades. And let them remove the feature and re add it a few times. It will be glorious in Gen 10.

In DPPt they had the pokemon pal park and then the HGSS games had full blown pokemon following you.

They don't have overworks models for all the pokémon though, just in-battle models. And you're retarded if you think they're 1:1 copies of each other.

What you're suggesting is for GF to comb over every single 721+ pokémon, decide which ones can be used for riding and such, give them distinct overworld models, and new animations. That's ridiculous. The rental system is much easier an not unrealistic either. It's a great solution.
