I've been trying to Nuzlocke FROmega for the past couple of days.

Brock murdered 4 of my mons, then I lost 2 to the Zubat in Mt. Moon. I'm stuck with a Togepi and a Ratatta.

This is fucking brutal, I love it.

Is there rules against trading pokemon to evolve? Just found a Gastly in Sprout tower and I'm wondering if I can trade it to get a Gengar or am I stuck with Haunter?

Wew, Rocket Executives are no joke in Sacred Gold.

Both Petrel and Ariana left three of my mons in the red, both Sekhmet and Logi surviving with 8hp on occasion.
Especially Petrel's Weezing with Fireblast and Thunder. Although due to quick switching, my Flash Fire Logi got hit by Fire Blast and swept the rest of his team.

Most of them are based on level, some are with stones.

While I like the idea of hold items+level up method of evolution, I tend to randomize and that creates a chance of impossibility of achieving those evolutions.

Last update, still need to grind these guys. I looked all over the map, flying to Cinnabar and the Power Plant and Articuno's Cave but there wasn't anything good anywhere. Thanks to all who gave me suggestions! Here's my two new members:

Possibly my more questionable pick. Ironically, somebody suggested Umbreon before when I was thinking Jolteon and now somebody's suggesting Jolteon. Umbreon overlaps with Snorlax quite a bit but I feel it's overall a little more tanky. It's actually a special-attacker (Dark = Special) and despite the -SpAtk nature I think it can shine in that role. Not to mention I need a reliable answer to Sabrina and Agatha - Snorlax is kind of okay against Sabrina but it's totally walled by Agatha. Also, more bulk is never bad.

>Gyarados
Resists both of Umbreon's weaknesses. Intimidate is really important on a team that doesn't have much physical bulk. Not to mention a +Def nature. I'm less sure of Gyarados than Umbreon but Gyarados' legacy as a great pokemon and a nuzlocke saviour should speak for itself, as it has for me. Gives me a bit of a rock weakness but the only Rock-type threats I see coming are Aerodactyl/Golem which I think I can handle.

Finally, I don't have a sixth member. If I can't find anything good in Victory Road pic related is all I've got. I'm considering Kabutops or Quagsire for my sixth.

Heres my final team after beating the elite 4. Im starting on a Blue giftlocke tomorrow, replacing the champion with this team to make thibga canon lol. After that im thinking of starting yellow with my final Blue team replacing Lace so that he'd be the final fourth elite with Red being the champion rival again.

My first time through the hack I died with Brock, mostly because I had only three Pokémon and two were flying types.

Second time I knew every Gym leader has six Pokémon, and I prepared accordingly. I breezed through Brock, Misty posed more of a challenge, and Surge was the first one to actually scare my shit when his Manectric almost killed Mushie with Firethrower, pic related.

I never enjoyed grinding. I usually cheat and rare candy up to the same level as the leaders MVP. It usually leaves my team weaker because of no EVs so unless you go way overboard it should still be an interesting nuzlocke. Though, mos5 people would consider this to be against the spirit of a nuzlocke

I don't like grinding either, but it is a necessary evil. Same reason why I don't speed up my grinding: I will disable battle animations at most, since console users can do it too.

As I said the other day, grinding in 2 minutes as opposed to grinding in 30 minutes *does* make the bond with your Pokémon less powerful.

I want to do a standard nuzlocke run in pokemon red, but i have never done something like this before and i have a few questions that i couldn't find answers to in OP's links, someone care to help me?

1_Do i *must* catch every first pokémon in every new route or area? Let's say i already have a full team and don't want any more pokémon, do i still have to catch the first one in a new area?

2_Can i swap my pokémon freely between the PC and the team i carry or i can only withdraw one from the PC if one from the team dies?

3_What if the first pokémon i encounter in a new area or route is a species i already have?

Can I evolve Electabuzz and Magmar in Firered Omega?

All right, so I'm randomizing Black 2, and I've hit upon my sticking point with the Universal Randomizer...

It's only "every trainer in the game is type themed" or "every trainer is completely random". There's no option to make it so gyms, the E4, and select other obviously-type-themed (like, say, any Bird Trainers are flying-type themed) while everyone else is completely random. Making every Trainer ever type-themed makes it predictable- oh, this guy has Water-types, better send out my grass guy and wipe his team- but a gym without type theming is just a collection of trainers.

Is there a setting I'm not seeing, or alternatively, a different randomizer I can use?

Last time I used a team of lvl 14 Dustox, lvl 14 Pidgey (I think) and lvl 10 Skitty. I didn't make it past his second Pokémon.

R.i.p. we're in for hard times. Lost my Nate the vigoroth at the young age of 29 and also Mercutio the Skarmory at the same level. That team magma admin was way stronger than I expected. Almost lost my ferrochen and candela to him as well.

I'm guessing the next gym is going to be very rough. I'm hoping if I get camerupt to 40 and militant to 50 I can just wipe through flannery.

Man I hate playing Sacred Gold or Storm Silver on the Desume Emulator. It's my most favorite game, but I just hate that I have to save a million times because of that damn sprite glitch. By default, the frames are uncompressed, making the file big. For reference, DeSmuMe .avi which I am using for a certain project, is about one GB per minute. Thankfully, it splits the recording into separate files once it gets long enough.
