So Alola forms are supposedly caused by pokemon having to adapt to the new environment. What sort of fuckign environment caused Exeggutor to become a dragon? What makes Meowth be fucking dark type? What makes Raichu psychic? And fucking Marowak?
The ice types and Exeggutor needing to be taller to reach the sun are cool, they make more sense (though I don't see what would make Ninetales a Fairy either), but I'm kind of hoping they will at least try to make up some explanations for why these have such random type changes.

Alola Exeggutor is the original form of Exeggutor, so you could infer it was always a Dragon-type. Exeggutor's growth was stunted when it was brought to other regions, and it adapted Psychic powers due to the prevalence of Poison-types in places like Kanto.
