Balltism shouldn't be just about the color. Catching a non-Water like Nidoking in a Dive Ball or a light Pokémon like Primeape in a Heavy Ball just because of their color is bullshit.

Balltism is exactly about the colour and its appeal, why would that context matter?
The only rule is to not use illegal balls, for example you can't use a heavy ball on Aegislash despite fitting it perfectly because it would instantly be dismissed by most players.

Not all autists are the same, you care about color, I care about the ball's flavor fitting the Pokémon. Just a different way of choosing which mon goes in which ball. I'd rather put a non-blue Water like Buizel in a Dive Ball than Nidoking or Articuno.

Also, according to OP's pic, Heavy ball is more fitting for Primeape, a lightweight, non-grey Pokémon than for Aggron or shiny Metagross, two heavy as shit, grey mons.

I was actually wondering if anyone else did this earlier today. I always try to match the pokemon to the ball when I can.

I like to catch my shiny pokemon in premier and luxury balls.

No-one can stop you using illegal ball combos. I don't, but that's sort of cos I have a "collector" attitude. If I want something in an apricorn ball, I transfer a parent from HG and go full bike simulator. Don't be me.
