Pikachu is a given.

Rockruff is most definitely going to evolve into this Gen's Lucario/Zoroark, so I think no Rockruff for Ash.

I think it's pretty likely Ash will catch a kanto Pokémon, so that can have an Alolan form evolution on hi team. I think we can rule out Alolan Meowth and Raichu.

He's gonna have at least one starter on his team, so that's Pikachu, a starter, and an Alolan form for at least half of his team.

The only other one I feel pretty good about is Mudsdale.

Ash seems to get one small but quirky and tough pokemon every season, and Crabrawler fits the bill. Pikipek is locked in already. From the concept art I wonder if he's going to end up with all three starters again.

I feel like James will get a Stuffels that regularly beats the shit out of him. Jesse will get Bruxish or Salandit.

I think Ash will get Mudsdale, Pikipek & a cowardly Wimpod that evolves into a beast. If Alolan Dragonite comes true maybe he'll catch Dratini too. I assume Litten is his and Rowlet is Mallow's. I dunno about Poplio, hopefully Serena tags along.

Pikipek becaise regional bird. Popplio because it needs the extra love. Bewear because we need a powerhouse that is also very inconvenient at times but also funny, think Muk + Snorlax. Mimikyuu because imagine the Pika shenanigans. Then there's the final edgy mon, possibly the pseudo, but imo it will be wimpod's evo.
