My numb fingers trembled as I pulled myself up another rock outcropping. Sore muscles ached as I elevated my body just a little higher, a little further along to my goal. What was I doing here? A vague promise; that little voice in the back of my mind whispering, "something's here. It's here for you." Further, higher, closer to something calling to me. I was long off the beaten path, what was a little further. And then, suddenly, I could go no further. It wasn't fatigue, it wasn't the cold, it wasn't my aching muscles. It was the top of the mountain, and at its summit, he was there, waiting for me. He didn't have to say a word for me to know he had been waiting for me; for how long I would never know. Slowly, methodically, with eyes closed and the ghost of a smile on his lips, he pulled his hat backwards. He looked me in eye, and we both reached to our belts for a Pokeball.
