Remove stats entirely, now that pokémon have overt natures and can now be properly animated. Stat affecting moves now give pluses and minuses and types are variety enough for battle, in addition to the increase in variety of pokémon themselves now being equal

Equalizing their stats wouldn't make them all equal though. Anything with a detrimental ability (slaking/archeops/regigigas etc) become even more useless than they already are, while the only viable pokemon end up being huge power, -ate or prankster users.

Nah I think it makes sense, IV's are basically genetics and I think its a cool idea, that if you breed 2 fast pokemon the child will probably fast too.
Eventhough I don't have the patience for IV breeding, I think its a neat system it really feels like you are a pokemon breeder.

I've been thinking that IVs would be better as a limited pool of points. Like, you have 90 IV points and they are distrubuted among the stats with 0 to 31 in each. That way, there are preferred point distributions you can breed for based on what the player wants out of the pokemon. But, you aren't just breeding up to a perfect all maximum number.

Yes, there is. You need different Pokemon to fill different roles. Who's your defensive pivot if all Pokemon have the same defenses? Also, stats aren't even the major deciding factor of a Pokemon's potential: movepool, abilities, and especially typing are all more important. It's the reason Sableye is better than Spiritomb, Smeargle is better than Spinda, and Skarmory is better than Avalugg.
