Assuming that pokeballs do not exist, and that you needed to consider time, feeding costs, cleanup, and housing, what pokemon could you reasonably care for?
>>
The plant ones that only need sunlight to live.
>>
Porygon
>>
A Meowth or a Lillipup. Assuming they can't learn any particularly destructive moves if raised as a pet.

Some Normal type or a Ghost type that doesn't need souls to eat maybe?
So an Audino or a Duskull should be good.
Or maybe a Chikorita or an Oddish.
>>
Eevee is the perfect pet
>>
>>27938528
Abra, it sleeps 18 hours a day and needs minimal food. It's also highly intelligent and can read minds and teleport around, though that would probably be a pain in the ass.

Many Grass Pokemon only need sunlight and water, growing tropical plants is a passion of mine anyways so that would be fun. A giant plant that can think, move and feel? Sign me up.

Shedinja, another one of my favourites is similarly easy to care for. It doesn't really move around and needs no food either. The problem with ghost Pokemon is rather their tendency to, you know eat your life force. That's creepy as fuck and probably not healthy.
>>
>>27938528
I would expect any humanoid to take care of themselves. Gardevior, Bisharp, Mewtwo, Alakazam, Machamp, Electvire, etc.
>>
>>27938632
I could see putting a large straw hat on Shedinja so you don't accidentally look into its soul-sucking-hole.

Houndoom and persian. Houndoom is easy because its a medium-small dog (77lbs)while im used to large ones (120+). persian just seems like a big cat so it should be good

You've clearly never cared for a large turtle before.

>This goes for literally anything raised in captivity.
Only if they're actually raised competently. There are way too many fuckwits who shouldn't be let within 100' of animals (or Pokemon, I guess). Captivity doesn't imply docility.

Meganium is docile by nature, and it has scents that lower aggression around it, so it would have to undergo some pretty horrifying abuse to make it aggressive - and its scent means that you couldn't be aggressive around it in the first place. On the other hand, if you raise a Houndoom in captivity and mistreat it, your house is reduced to cinders and you end up moving permanently to a burns unit.
>>
>>27938904
I'm sure that a pet Mankey would still be very aggressive given that many of real live primates can keep violent and territorial demeanor despite being raised in captivity.
>>
>>27938998
Big dogs shed though, toy dogs generally don't shed which is a huge bonus.

>>27939016
I guess apes would be an exception. But for the most part captive bred = tame. This goes for anything, even shit like large constricting snakes, alligators, snapping turtles, large spiders, birds, monkeys, foxes, wolves, skunks etc.

If my current real world rules apply, none. No pets allowed in my apartment and sentient plants or objects would probably fall under the same rule.
As a kid I had rabbits, birds and cats though, so stuff like Buneary, Swablu or Skitty should all be feasible. I always wanted a dog though, so if I moved to an adequatly sized home I would definitely want to get a Growlithe.
I know it's fire, but pokedex entries call it friendly, loyal and obedient to their trainers. With their barking at intruders and fiercely guarding their territory part, they technically just act like general guard dogs. If I get a good trained one or go with a puppy to some pokemon equivalent dog training it should work.

Swampert. I already own a pool, would just let him chill in there. How hard could it be?
>>
>>27939833
Yeah, small birds would work well. Pidove would probably make a good pet.

Looking at this thread I'm thinking:
Cats or dogs that are normal types, so herdier, meowth, etc
Rodents: again more normal types, ratata, bunaery, etc
The above of other types if you can think of some exceptions, for example the meowstic line would probably do fine in captivity but I'm not sure pikachu would be safe with all its electricity. Ash gets shocked a ton, that can't be good for his heart.
Small reptiles and amphibians: ekans might work, no others come to mind but certainly something else could too
All grass types: feeding would be easy, only real requirement is a backyard for them to hang out in
Fish/ water types: this would be harder than grass but possible if you have a large aquarium or lake available
All humanoids: they would basically take care of themselves, in fact I don't know why they would refer to you as their master when they're clearly sentient and often times much more intelligent. I smell a case of pokemon rights. Or maybe pokemon like alakazam secretly run all politics behind the scenes

Probably Gardevoir and/or Gothitelle. I wouldn't be able to keep a constant eye on them due to work and all. But since they're humanoid and psychic, they can look after themselves. I wouldn't even have to leave food out. They'll be able to reach it with their psychic power. They're intelligent, understanding, empathetic, and so less likely to rage and accidentally set the house on fire, wreck someone's car, or tear someone's arm off.

>>27941427

>Sableye eats gems. That's expensive as fuck.

I had to look this up, but Sableye eats "Rocks and Raw Gemstones"- which translates into "Silicate Minerals", so Sableye actually eats (roughly speaking) anything that falls into that category: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicate_minerals
With that said though: Quartz is like 8-10 dollars a pound, so it might be best to keep Sableyes in the wild where they belong.

Anyway with that said I'm with these anons:

Plant pokemon seem like the coziest and most inexpensive sort of pokemon to take care of feed, house and keep happy (which might actually explain why Bulbasaur and the like are always described as being easy to take care of and growing quickly).

I want to say Bulbasaur, but realistically that fucker would live FOREVER and grow HUMONGOUS.
I think a Hoppip would be ideal for me.

A Porygon pet would be great. Imagine all the possible modifications for it, plus how useful it'd be: just tell it to go onto the internet himself and find your fetish porn, or scroll a page for you so you can just sit back and relax without tiring your hands. Plus, you could probably lock it in the computer if you needed to, so if you ever got tired of him or had sexually abused him you could just power off the computer and keep him in a sort of suspended animation and he'd just be there waiting for you when you came back.

Sexually abusing a Porygon would be a victimless crime. You could just delete him, or erase his sexual abuse memories. Besides, even if he did remember it, pokémon love their trainers, so he'd probably be ok with it.

Human sex with pokemon is a-ok.
>>
>>27955683
1 - I didn't say I'm actually doing it or planning on doing it. It is an illegal act which I am obviously not condoning or endorsing.

2 - What part of what I said is false?

3 - You (someone) said before that animals can't consent, presumably due to not having a will of their own. How can you have sex with them against their will then? As long as you're loving & caring & don't hurt them, what's the harm?
>>
>>27955721
Even then it depends on the type of pokemon. A slowpoke that has no idea what's going on is not ok. A gardevoir that telepathically consents is a-ok.

I would adore raising a Heracross. Bug pokemon seem like they would be extremely simply to care for, due to most being very small, or having a very simple diet, and raising a Heracross would also give me a little bug buddy with the strength of a fucking bulldozer.

I might even clear out some space around the house to build a shed or a room where I can raise other bug types, like Weedles and Paris.

How hard would taking care of this be?

Exactly so. A Pikachu can consent to sex, but it's not really proper to stuff your dick in a small rat! But if your Charizard or Ampharos is craving the D, they could consent and handle a dicking.

you're the kind of person who gets a husky puppy thinking that it's easy to care for because it's a puppy aren't you?

No.

>>27955811
No more different from caring for a normal bird. Swablu are very comfortable with humans, and will even sit on a persons head even if they don't know them, so you'd have no trouble at all finding one and befriending it. The real trouble I imagine would be the cleaning portion, since a Swablu will clean dirty spots all the time, you would need to keep checking it's wings to make sure they aren't too dirty, and when they do get dirty you have to thoroughly wash them.

This will be the normal view in 15-20 years if nothing is done about it

They already legalized this "consenting animal" shit in Canada, it's messed up.

That's literally where the concept of dream eating comes from. Whenever you can't remember a dream is because a ghost ate it. (Japanese Folklore weirdness)

Well, Canada does have a best selling book about a woman fucking a bear.

How do they know when an animal gives consent?

I've always been fond of psychic and steel types. I would have a Metagross, raised from a Beldum of course, and it is both super intelligent and fully takes care of itself.

I'd also love to have an Onix or Steelix, which while not intelligent are still easily taken care of and rideable without complaint. I'd probably be able to ride my Metagross, but due to his intelligence it would pretty much be down to whether the Metagross wanted to or not, not up to me.

The Metagross would be a great herder for my Steelix and Onix actually, taking care of them for me and working with me in a way I'd want.

As for fucking (which I know is what you're all waiting for) I'd like to go with a pretty male Gardevoir.

I had a rescued doberman, she was amazing. They seem to be great dogs.

Yes. My backyard actually has enough land to support the Onix thing, and like anyone would do shit about Onixes tunneling through the park wherever they want.

Also Metagross is like the size of a car so yeah he would live outside and do as he pleases.

Probably not much longer than 6 feet ("height" is something like 4', but I assume that's just vertical), can probably be taught safe ways of climbing me (i.e. low risk of deadly constriction), and, being Grass-type, can probably supplement their diet with sun.
Also incredibly cute, and probably more of a constrictor compared to the viper-like ekans/arbok/seviper
Plus, fun Halloween costume if you don't mind "accidentally" squeezing you hard a bit afterwards.

Also Tropius, it's fruit are edible and delicious.

It's actually not obvious that you're neutral toward sex with animals. If you were, why are you spending so much time arguing people who believe sex with animals is wrong? To me, your argument, it's analogous to raising a foster child and then saying it's okay to have sex with them even if they consent as long as you're gentle and caring.

Go die.
>>
>>27957253
I believe since you OWN a pet you should be able to have sex with it, as your property. I've had sex with my pet rock PLENTY of times, with no complaints, she's still healthy as can be.

Just kidding, after the third time it actually broke in half, RIP Dwayne I'll never forget you

>This goes for literally anything raised in captivity.
O I guess that's why we're all keeping bears and tigers and it's just perfectly fine and nothing ever goes wrong. Why bother with years of selectively breeding for domestication, just raise it in captivity and it's harmless.
