Its a forced type, it has done more damage to the meta than it has ever fixed. It has poor design variability. It cause many pokemon to be retconned out of nowhere, ruining consistency. And it was the main reason so many people were unhappy with the X and Y dex, since it was filled to the brim with them.

I still like it, fairy pokeon are some of my favourite, new and old, like all types and all pokemon, but there's many, many things wrong with it. Don't even try to pass it up as a good typing by itself, its one of the worst in every regard but competitive.

The answer is literally "because game mechanics!" This is weak as fuck and stupid from a lore perspective. First off, a shitload of types needed a buff, they could have distributed these resistances among them and actually given a whole bunch of underused typings some love.

Secondly, this is literally dragon type 2.0. Weak to inane shit that is not a threat to it, with resistances to strong types and crazy options.

IF we keep this up, we'll have a new type to rebalance fairies in gen 8 and then a new type to rebalance that one and then a new type to rebalance that one and then and then, shieed, we'll have a table with 751 types.

Honestly this. I love Fairy, it's my favorite type alongside Dragon and Dark (maybe Grass as well), but there's no denial, it's literally Dragon 2.0. Unnecessarily broken, completely ruins the original lore of what Fairies even were (at least 7th gen is kinda fixing that), as if it wasn't already butchered by the media and just, well stupid. It does open to a humongous variety in pokemon designs and lore, but the way it has impacted everything, it just feels forced.

Maybe if it had one extra weakness, it probably wouldn't be this annoying ? Maybe to Bug ? Or a new type cause really, we are bound to get a new type in 2 or 3 gens, either just cause for variety or to nurf Fairy.

I dunno man, in the main game, you can beat anyone with just status changers, even if heavily underleveled. The fact that it goes first just means that you're taking the attacks with less damage. I dunno, maybe it's been too long since you actually played the game to remember that a lot of stuff that is shit later on is great at the beginning.

If it's just that most fairies aren't fairies, it's not like it's the only type to pull that bullshit. Most Grass-types aren't actually Grass, and several (like Foongus) aren't even plants. Spiders aren't bugs, but Pokémon still refers to them as bugs. Several Dragon-types are clearly not dragons and only have the type for arbitrary reasons like wordplay or diversity. Psychic is absolutely and completely arbitrary with nothing tying it together.

What are you talking about?
Status moves are just like normal moves, affected by speed, the priority of the move and the Prankster ability.
And it's not always a good strategy to have a fast Pokémon with status moves. They are some exceptions though, but it doesn't apply to moves that lower a Stat by ONE level.
Tl/dr : No moves other than Protect and it's clones go first without Prankster. Stop defending a faggot that thought that Umbreon and Sylveon's method of evolution is the same.

the way I see it is

I doubt that you will get that though, fairy is basically there to encompass all the cute and friendly stuff. Their resistance to dark and immunity to dragon, two categories that are traditionally linked to evil or monster themes, drives the point even more home. All mythological evil fairies would probably get a dark typing instead. The best you could get is probably a mischievous themed one, but outright evil seems doubtful.

And while Granbull looks intimidating it's pointed out in the dex that it's actually really timid. So scary looking, but ultimately nice fairy might happen too.

They probably read some headcanon of some fuck and took it to heart and preach it like it's the one and only truth. Fighting representing honor and through this heroic qualities is an okay theory but it doesn't suddenly make the whole type an heroic light type stand in to satisfy some people's autism about needing to make sense about its resistance to dark. There is literally nothing heroic about Primeape for example, he's just a raging baboon.
It's probably just real fighting power > dirty tricks. Fighting only ends up looking heroic through the comparison with dark, but in its basic form it's still just a physical strong/martial arts type theme. So fairies, basically sparkly magical creatures, being super effective against normal physical fighters is really not that farfetched.

Besides that most of them are more or less benevolent in their disposition and a lot of them have vibrant colors, with pink being one of the main ones. Basically if it's cute and friendly it's probably at least part fairy.
