Can we talk about the fact that psychic pokemon would totally wreck our shit? I have no idea how Sabrina would even catch one of these fuckers.

Alakazam is basically the smartest pokemon in existence. Why would they want to be enslaved and trained? Do most psychic trainers have a mutual respect for their psychic pokemon and treat them more like humans or what?

Don't even get me started on dragon pokemon.

Every Pokemon would wreck your shit, most would just do it for animalistic reasons. You can trust most psychic pokemon to take offense or get mad for more sapient reasons, but the higher tiers are going to have motivations just as an alien as, say, a Shuckle's. Alakazam probably only puts up with Psychic Trainers because they can communicate at the speed of thought. Maybe an Ace Trainer that has their shit together. Theread would have to be some limiter to keep them from omnipotent narcissism and, eventually, psychopathy. Pokemon do have an innate desire to live with humans. They are all derived from Mew...it's possible that Mew's genetics keep exponentiating intelligences from developing into anything but "friendly" forms. They can fight and attack buildings, organizations, and even get up to mischief by eating dreams, but they don't mind crush the President or enslave towns.

A lot of Pokemon seem rather docile, if only because of the nature of the franchise. Some Pokemon stand out as particularly dangerous, but all seem inclined to coexist with humans to varying degrees. In reality, specialists would have more grounds for "owning" powerful Pokemon. We tend to laugh at mono-type teams, but someone with the ability to synchronize with and understand Psychic Pokemon would be absolutely devastating. The same goes for most 'types,' and 'species,' but few things compare to having your body and mind put in grave danger by more or less invisible forces emanating from a creature. Anyway, multi-type teams would be less feasible in reality, and a testament to true understanding of these creatures. But if you had that kind of knowledge, why battle at all?

Yes, Psychic Pokemon would be dangerous as fuck. All of them would be. A good number of them have an innate docility, but that'd vary not only from species to species, but also from individual to individual. I think this is part of why Sabrina is depicted with a whip in the first gen. We know it's a holdover from when Humans were meant to fight Pokemon in the games. I think that'd make more sense overall, but the violence would be ramped up with ease.

Sabrina herself is a powerful psychic.
Sabrina is PSYCHIC.
Humans in the Pokemon world can be Psychic, Fighting, Dark and Normal types.

Intelligence isn't just a straight line where you go from dumbest to smartest and instantly become a prideful cunt like you always see in the cartoons. Alakazam without question are undoubtedly highly intelligent, but that doesn't mean they're assholes.
Pokemon aren't "enslaved"; they can actually leave at any time, but the vast majority of them stay because they either respect their trainer or see them as a tool to become stronger. Pokemon trained by Humans are always stronger and grow faster.

Most Trainers catch and train the Pokemon they can relate to or understand the best; mono-type teams are so common and abundant because it's SMART. It makes SENSE to have a mono-type team because it'd be easier to train them, feed them, keep them in good health n' so forth because they'd all have similar needs.
A Psychic trainer is going to train and raise psychic Pokemon because he can personally understand the depth and mechanics of these creatures abilities via his own personal experience and abilities- He may even grow more powerful and learn from them as well. Like wise since he's mono-typing he'll be able to more easily: feed, groom and keep them healthy.

Could you imagine how difficult it would be to feed your diverse group of well balanced Pokemon types?
Or for that matter know the specifics of each typings physiology to even know if they're healthy or not in the first place?

This needs to be kept alive.
