This is what a mega should be, a continuation of the pokemon's theme and aspects of its design, while not going completely over-the-top or simply mimicking what an evolution could do better. Just a logical change that would be to simple for regular eovlution, that feels natural and fits perfectly.

It should be noted that Zard Y is only mildly shitty and is a semi-natural extension of regular Charizard, whereas Zard X's design has no redeeming qualities and was designed to pander to 9 year olds and edgelords.
