How do you get coins in a game where gyms get taken over every 10 minutes or are guarded by impossibly tanky and strong pokes with 2000+ CP?

need to collaborate with others to boost up a gym to at least level 8 and put only high level pokes in there.
I have tried myself but assholes always drop in when they see there is a slot for them to dump their shit.
