never use your Master Ball unless it's a shiny that can run or selfdestruct, otherwise Poké Balls for everything but Shinies, which should be Premier Balls

I'm not planning to shiny hunt in HG/SS, I'm just want the legendaries so I can complete the PokeDex in OR/AS.

Mewtwo is the most appropriate, Rayquaza is an asshole to battle.

I'd still keep the Master Ball until you get to your last legendary, just in case you come across a random Geodude in the SelfDestruct level range

use it on a muk since he's purple and his name starts with an m
