Poison removes Hydreigons fighting and bug weakness, so all that is left is 2X weakness to ice, dragon and fairy.
Your other options are the dark/flying pokemon.
That would only be weak to ice, electricity and rock after the poison type.

Dragon and dark are both weak to fairy. Poison makes that 4x weakness into a 2x weakness.

Is there a way to make Aurorus good with a third type? Ghost gets rid of Fighting, but adds Ghost and Dark. Flying gets rid of Ground, makes Fighting x2, but makes Rock x4 and adds Electric.

If you're taking about elemental sync then your wrong.
It doesn't add a third type. It either replaced an existing type so your Brozong can be Poison/psychic or Steel/Poison. Or add a second typing to a Pokemon.
