Kalos a shit, and if the anime were ever interested in anything other than marketing the games, Ash would have been a real trainer like fucking Gary and not made it all the way to Blackthorn City with a fucking Cyndaquil and a Totodile and a Charizard that would rather abandon him to fuck some whore than be a God damn champion. But it isn't, and they need to sell games with starters and box legendaries.

The Lumiose Conference doesn't even exist as a concept in the games

Where in the video games is it necessary to compete in a national tournament with other players who won eight badges for the right to even challenge the Elite Four?
