I don't understand how there are real animals as well as pokemon in the pokemon universe. Does anyone have an explanation or is it kind of a "just because" thing? If so why did they include real animals and not only pokemon?

I guess it's similar to the way pokemon and humans can exist together without the humans having special powers.

Is a pokémon we've yet to see, although INDIAN ELEPHANT is not the name, but rather it's cassification, just as how Rattatta is the "rat" pokémon or some shit.

There's more than one pokémon with that classification, though, that's why they reffer to them by classification rather than their name, the catch is we've yet to see that one pokémon.

My headcanon is that there used to be Indian Elephants but Pokemon caused all normal animals to die out because of natural selection (everything wanted to only breed with Pokemon, thus making them the only animals left), and the carnivorous ones killing them off as well, and they're just using them as an example of Raichu and Gastly's power
