Scald has 30% chance to burn. So you had 70% chance to not burn, or 0.7 if you consider 1 to be 100%. In a binomial distribution (think coin flips), the chance of getting an outcome X times in a row is the number of times to the power of X.
0.7 to the power of 16 is about 0.003, or a 0.3% chance of occuring. So that's pretty unlucky.
