Yeah, except this is actually the smallest plot hole in Pokemon ever. If you can accept the fact that each gen new Pokemon are added that were somehow unheard of in previous generations and things like Fairy, Dark, and Steel type somehow spontaneously generate, then you can surely look past a single sentence in some garbage flavor text that no one gives a fuck about.

At least with Steel it was actual new pokemon and no moves were changed from a previous Type.

Bite and Crunch became Dark type and Fairy's typing means that some pokemon should have taken super effective damage from certain moves.

pretty sure Golurk, bronzong and claydoll are older than porygon

Maybe that porygon is explicitly an artificial Pokemon composed of computer data, whereas magearna, claydol, et cetera are magic enchanted things.

they definitely fucked up the lore. But it depends on the context for artificial. Artificial basically means it's imitating something. Definition doesn't restrict itself to only natural or only non-natural materials to make the artificial skin.
It could mean they made porygon out of living tissues. Or simply altered the genes of a pokemon to imitate another pokemon that eventually made porygon. On the other hand, magearna is made entirely out of crafted "man-made" materials. No living tissues, per say.

But FRLG Porygon exists in the non-mega evolution universe and Magearna potentially (saying this because we don't know how megas will work in SM) exists in the one which in mega evolution happen. Maybe FRLG Porygon really is the first man-made Pokemon there as Magearna simply doesn't exist there and never will.

Honestly when you get into it, the fact that alternate universes are completely canon can explain almost anything. Things like why Togekiss didn't used to be weak to steel type and why psychic used to be immune to ghost, different moves being learned by the same pokemon, having duplicate legendaries, everything.
