Why does Gamefreak hate bugs?
>>27803793
it just bugs them
>>27803793
Fixed?
>>27803828
Fuck you
>>27803793
Y'know, I was on board with GF making Fairy resist Bug at first. I thought it was a way to prevent Mega Heracross from being OP for example, since even though Flying resists both Bug and Fighting, Rock Blast addresses that.
But then I remembered Poison resists both Bug and Fighting too, so I have no more excuses for them. We have no Poison types with recovery that aren't Flying type.
If I wanted to fix Bug, I'd give it resistances to Ghost and Dark and Psychic. Or maybe just 2 among those if that's too many.
>>27806078
yep
>>27803793
Bug types are normally found in the early game, so it emphasizes how weak they are.
>>27803793
Shit I have spent all of my years thinking Bug was NVE on Rock. But that's wrong? Huh
>>27803793
If you look at the pokemon of gen 1, it's obvious that rock, grass, bug and ice were not designed to work as monotypes and hence suck balls.
Flying is the only non-montype that would work decently on its own.
Bug should resist Ghost, it has too good neutral coverage, even with Normal being immune. No pokemon quad resists Ghost, because Dark is the only resist since Steel lost theirs. I think this change would balance them both a bit better.
>>27803793
>ghost resists bug
>fairy resists bug
for what purpose
>>27806118
Oh, sorry to bug you should I buzz off? Or would that be pretty fly?
>>27806457
What can a bug do against a fucking ghost? Use you brain for a little and say thanks that Ghost is not completely immune to Bug like it is to Normal and Fighting.
>>27806457
by the time bugs are eating a corpse, the soul has already left.
Fairies tend to control forest critters
>>27806533
that logic doesn't work. Logically half the types in pokemon would get fucked up by fire but you don't see them being weak to it at all.
Zen headbutt and thunderpunch hits ghosts despite them being contact moves. Don't be an idiot.
>>27806842
I guess that sort of makes sense. But bug is still resisted by too many types.
>>27806533
what can a plant or literally any physical attack do to a ghost?
They're used as a cheap go-to balance factor whenever Gamefreak needs to give something an extra resistance. The fact that Fire and Fairy resist them when Rock doesn't is downright stupid.
>>27806297
Ice was actually decent in Gen I in part because Blizzard and its 90% accuracy, 30% freeze was so stupid. Also because its counter types all have their own problems holding them back, so having Ice as your only resistance and a Freeze immunity actually put you ahead of most other types defensively in a Normal/Psychic dominated world.
>>27806457
>>fairy resists bug
Because Gardevoir.
>>27811941
Yup.
Just like Fire resisting Fairy was mainly to protect Charizard X.
>>27806504
>>27803793
They were the niggers of pokeworld before the dark type.
>>27812659
Niggers are Ice-type though.
They're a game developer, of course they hate bugs
have you played gen 1, they love bugs
>>27813220
>Only four bug moves of which only three could deal damage and they were weak as fuck.
Ayy
>>27806533
if we're applying logic to this situation explain how bugs are resistant to fighting types
>>27814620
I beg to differ, Pin Missile was and still is a relatively strong move, and it can be taught to some non-bug types such as Jolteon.
Admittedly, there seems to be rather low support for it compared to other types, but I would argue that they have made sure bugs aren't the laughing stock
>>27806504
off yourself at least try to be clever

I did, and it died in one hit.

You punched it like a normie. Try again, this time punching like a martial artist.
