Why aren't they Rock-type?
>>27793846
They were all built from the ground up.
>>27793846
why do we even have ground type?
>>27793846
Because clay is made from ground, not rock.
And >>27793866 had the point. Rock and Ground should be the same fucking type.
>>27793866
We shouldn't have either, they should both be combined into the earth or mineral type
but having ground over rock makes more sense than having rock over ground
>>27793866
During Gens 1 & 2 I felt it was clearly
>Ground = ability to dig/manipulate the earth
>Rock = being made out of minerals
Baltoy and Claydol kind of fucking that up. And now that Normal is being more liberally applied to dual types it's also blurring the "regular land animals" line.
>>27793846
Sand isn't made of rocks, and Baltoy/Claydol and Golett/Golurk were made of clay which also isn't made of rock.
>>27793937
>Sand isn't made of rocks
>>27793937
This dumbass
>>27793937
There are clearly rocks on Wormadam's cloak.
>>27793866
>stealth rock becomes central to metagame
>rock doesn't even resist itself
>steel gets introduced in gen 2
>ground and steel both super-effective against rock
>rock becomes extremely useful as an offensive typing
>gamefreak insists on making rock/ground and rock/steel types with 200+ base defense and 55 base attack
rock is one of the most fucked over types next to ice
>>27793846
The difference between Rock and Ground is extremely arbitrary. Basically if the Pokemon is more brown than grey it's Ground, and it's Rock if vice versa.
