I watched the Unova league for the first time ever yesterday. The league itself was only 5 episodes long if you don't count that shitty Axew filler in the middle. Things I noticed:

- Most of Ash's Unova Pokemon get no wins. Oshawott, Snivy, Boldore, Leavanny, and the bird don't get any wins, and Palpitoad ties with the Zebra.

- Pikachu was surprisingly a powerhouse in the Unova league, beating Samurott, Serperior, taking down 2-3 of Cameron's pokemon, and did a good fight against Lucario before going down.

- Shadescroc and Tepig's evo had the most wins in the league besides Pikachu.

- Virgil with Eevee made no mention of going to a Champion league. As soon as he won his league he went with his brother in a jet and they flew off somewhere.

Is there any proof the backlash toward BW is why XY is so different? If you win the League you're eligible to participate in the Champion's League and you can challenge the E4. I think once you beat all E4 members you'll become an E4 member yourself and then you can challenge the Champion. And unless we get an Alolan Persian, I think they're setting up a bit for him to try and get some island booty in a one-off.
