how do you make a lake map not garbage

its just so boring, anyone got some lake maps for inspiration?
>>
>>27773096
I was going to mention the lakes from DPPt, but looking at them, they're just circles. So uh... not that.
>>
>>27773096
This looks more like a big river than a lake. Try making it less straight and more round if that makes any sense.
>>
>>27773096
Well, you could take a look at Sinnoh, although I wouldn't call their lakes very exciting either.

I would say you should make it more of an oval, or just expand it in general. Right now it's rather straight and narrow. Maybe add some sandy shorelines in some places, or a couple small islands. A dock might help as well, if only to help break up the large expanse of water more.

The lake of rage is the only other major one I can recall, but that's just a surf maze.

You could try and make it more interesting by adding more secrets, like hidden areas or items or rare pokemon, but that doesn't really make the lake less boring by itself.

Does this look good as a starting town? It's just random, really.
Also, the tileset is aweful...
>>
>>27773526
Seems a bit too orderly and constricted. I'd space things out a bit more, break up the treeline, and give people more room to walk around.

Anyone know a newb way of replacing a world map in firered? The guides I ever found involved hex editing.
>>
>>27773526
Remove the fence between the two houses so you can walk between them if you wish instead of being forced onto the path.
Other than that, it's ok I guess. More interesting than most GF starting towns

How the flying fuck does GBA music hacking work guys? Like, if I've got the .midi, and I want it to sound like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylE8CQsKItU, for example, how do I? Is that even physically possible in a GBA hack?

Guys, I need help.

I have a rival sprite that's 64x64 and indexed to 15 colors, but it only loads the pallete when I load it into Unlz Gba. Even if I manage to get the whole sprite to load in, it fucks up and crashes the game when the rival battle starts.

You need extensive knowledge of how Voicetables work and the limits of the GBA when it comes to how many instruments it can play at once.
Listening to the song you linked, it sounds to me like it was just run through FL studio or something and listened to in there, so it's not accurate as to how it would sound in-game. It plays way too many instruments at once, so It wouldn't sound like that at all in the real thing.

>>
>>27780954
> I mean, I know that it can play six instruments at once
It can actually only play 5 at once, but should be kept at 4 in battle since the lowest priority track gets silenced by attack SFX.
And yeah, music hacking isn't exactly what i would call 'beginner friendly.
There are tutorials for it, but some of them house false information (like what you said; 6 sounds instead of 5 being the limit) and none of them tell you how to edit voicetables, as far as I'm aware.

I need help trying to set up a store that sells Pokemon.

I need Essentials to generate 5 randomly leveled Pokemon and set a price by averaging out their stats. Also every 30 minutes or so, the store should generate new Pokemon. Also the levels are capped by badges so the player can't buy a level 50 Pokemon at the first gym.

My issue is that the variables won't store when I use the script command, and you can't store poke.level, poke.hp, and so on in the control variables command.
Even a simple "$game_variables[1] += 1" would give me a syntax error. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong here.

I know Essentials screwed up how counting steps were handled, but did they change the variable handling too?
>>
>>27780242
Looks pretty good dude, I'd compress the beach a little more [height-wise], as it looks fairly plain and empty at its bottom end, near the water. Additionally, the spaces between the set of orange-roofed houses and the tall apartment buildings [to the left of the mart] is really narrow; it might be better to add some more space for the player to walk between those two. The lighthouse seems similarly hard for the player to access [seems he can only do it by going around the back]. While it's definitely a good thing to have maps that aren't wide open, game freak does usually give the player space to walk around and access various buildings easily,

Overall though it's a pretty cool map, looks like a much more interesting version of Cyllage City. I really like your tile choices and custom tiles/edits
>>
>>27781280
Gee, idk. Since you need to call pokemon name instead of their dex number. Not sure how you randomize it.
Check out the event at Game Corner, the clerk that sells Porygon and Dratiny, for reference.
For that 30-minutes event thing? Isn't it better to make it time base instead, e.g. it sells pokemon a-b-c in the morning, pokemon c-d-e in the afternoon, and pokemon f-g-h during nighttime.
>>
>>27781280
The Cedolan Game Corner example can set you in the right direction.
It creates a mock store menu and sells pokemon
>>
>>27781899
>>27781900
Thanks, but there's still the issue of pricing the pokemon. Because they're based on variables and Essentials won't let me store pokemon stats in variables.
>>
>>27781960
that's odd because "Interpreter" does things like
>$game_variables[i] += value

Trainer's money can be played around with too if you do this after picking the choice to buy
>$Trainer.money -= [price]

You could also write a separate script to do a badge check and modify stats after generating the pokemon instead of storing stats indefinitely:

case $Trainer.badges
when 0
potential iv=rand(5)
potential ev=rand(24)
#1-7
when 8
potential iv=rand(31)
potential ev=rand(255)
end
>>
>>27782122
I think you're missing the point. I know how to generate randomly leveled Pokemon. What I need is the pokemon's stats to be stored in variables because the stats are what determine the price.

I'm looking around and it seems nobody has thought to use $game_variables[i] += value in Essentials but me.
I just sent a bug report. It baffles me how an issue like this has gone unnoticed.
>>
>>27782756
Are you declaring a new game variable with a new value?
Try using $game_variable[i]=value
If it hasn't been declared yet, that could lead to the error.
Also make sure you using a variable that you have left space for.
You need to set the max number in RMXP

Okay so they didn't delete my post. A moderator just made it into its own thread without notifying me. I retract my statement.

I'm making a dungeon crawler.

For starters, you get to choose any three unevolved pokemon from gen 1 & 2.

Pokemon encountered in dungeons are harder to catch so you're expected to buy from vendors, trade with NPCs, and so on.

I want to eventually add a hardcore mode where if you beat a trainer you can take one of their Pokemon. And if they beat you, they'll get one of yours.

The selection screen shows all the variables properly. But when I try to give the player a pokemon stored in a variable, pic related happens. pbAddPokemon(p) does the same thing.

I need the mon to generate before doing anything else with it so you can see how much it costs. But it seems as soon as you call a function that doesn't relate to it, the pokemon gets scrubbed.

I'll have to make the script create a new Pokemon and replace the stats with the original one's stored variables.

What a pain.
>>
>>27789514
>But it seems as soon as you call a function that doesn't relate to it, the pokemon gets scrubbed.
That sounds ike the variable you're trying to use is being used by another script.
game variables are hardly different than other globals.
could you post your script so we can take a look and see what the issue is?

VX Ace is a double-edged sword.

RGSS2's coding language is very spotty. RMVX Ace uses RGSS3, which has all of RGSS2's bugs kinked out. Plus there are countless scripts and a decent amount of documentation so learning it isn't too hard.

But for whatever reason the creators of VX Ace decided that we only needed two layers to work with, so map making in VX Ace is unbelievably shitty. If it wasn't for Photoshop and collision mapping, I don't know what I'd do.

I think it's that "p" variable.
When you set "p" to be your pokemon, I think it forgets in the next script. Make a game_variable to store the pokemon in and then refer to that variable for stats.
In "pbAddPokemon", the variable "p" hasn't been referenced until that point at all.

Uranium's problem was being released in a time everyone is crazy for some different mons, regardless of being official or fake. Bunch of sites started doing reviews about it, which in turn made it get even more attention.

Now, however, Nintendo shot itself in the foot. By ''taking it down'', Uranium will now get even more fame because of it. I don't even know if it really is good, but it's a matter of time before it becomes overrated and Nintendo goes crazy with nothing to be done against a game that is already ''taken down''

Bump with progress.

There will be vendors scattered all over the region. City vendors will have wide selections but they'll be pricey. Town vendors will only sell baby pokemon but there'll also be NPCs to give you sidequests and make trades. There'll also be a vendor in every dungeon who sells a rare mon or two.

Pseudo legendaries and starters are only available through side missions and difficult-to-find vendors.

The more badges you have, the higher level pokemon will be available. You'll even be able to get evolved forms if they're high-leveled enough.

Every 45 minutes the vendors will restock.

I'm not making a catch 'em all game but I'll probably make everything available.

This is a lot of tedium, but once I got over the hurdle it's just been crunching numbers.

How do I play a ROM on my 3ds? i have homebrew and I tried using the mGBA folder for pokemon emerald but it was so slow that I couldn't get past the loading screen. Is there a better rom i can download elsewhere?
>>
>>27795913
/heg/ isn't the place for this, you want /ekx/, but I'll answer anyway since you're already here.

Get CFW and inject a ROM into the GBA Virtual Console. To my understanding the 3DS has native GBA support that it loads up when using the GBA VC so it has 100% compatibility (besides obvious things like the link cable or gimmicks like Boktai's solar censor).

If your 3DS can't get CFW you're fucked.

It's impossible. The current cutoff point is 10.7, because 10.7 and below have an exploit that lets you downgrade to 9.2. You fucked up by updating.

You're in the right place, m8
The first option has plenty of potential, but the concepts have been done here and back.
The second option is also good and might set your game apart with originality.
Both are good, but you'd have to focus on making those first designs very creative to set them apart.

I'm thinking about making an Essentials game, and had a couple of questions.

First, I'm not very confident in my ability to make Fakemon, so I'd likely only use existing mons. Does Charmander, Mudkip, Turtwig sound like a good starter trio? I was planning on mostly using stuff from gen 4 and earlier.

Second is if it would be possible to add more features involving following pokemon, like interacting with one could function as an itemfinder, or prompt using a field move like sweet scent or teleport without them having to know it. Maybe even making it possible to ride certain pokemon like a bike. This part is a bit more ambitious, but I want to know how feasible it is.

Late, but here's why. Door one's designs are a lot more grounded and easier to work with. They're simple concepts that fall in line with their type affiliation and are easier to envision as Pokemon. Door Two's fire and water types are a lot more awkward conceptually. What is effectively a rabbit having fire wings seems like it'd end up really overdesigned [unlike most past fire starter final evos] and wouldn't convey the notion of the 'Flying' type as well as say, a bird. Having a snake that's part fighting type is similarly strange, most fighting types are agile and use hand-to-hand combat; it seems like the snake is only part fighting by virtue of its tail. Even if you are an incredible fakemon artist/designer, there's a large chance that these concepts would end up as awkward-looking final designs. You know how people say Uranium's fakemon don't look very good? A large part of that is because their designer tried to go 'outside of the box' with far too many of the dex designs, so instead of a dex with cute little animals that resemble Pokemon, it's a dex filled to the brim with cryptids, birds with super-satured palletes, and the titanic as a fakemon.

You can absolutely be unique, but game freak does it in small doses and they're generally conservative with their concepts and designs for starters [Mudkip as a concept is the exception, not the rule, and it has a very simple design]. I'd just stick with what you have in door one and save any interesting concepts for later-game mons. Maybe the first option has been "done here and back" as Max said, but there's a reason for that, but people won't knock a good design. I just find that creativity is really overrated in the fakemon community. Ethereal Gates's fakemon are pretty well received and they have many simpler concepts in the dex. They do have a unique starter concept in Fernling [a draco volans], but its design is simple and it fits the typing it has. At the end of the day though, it's up to you.

I've replaced the intro with a PMD-style personality quiz that decides which gen's starter trio you get. Instead of natures, the results are Pokemon types. I decided on adding in a couple extra possible starters, like the PMD games, but so far it's just Eevee and a joke starter trio made up of the lowest BST mons in Water, Grass and Fire (Azurill (technically Water when it evolves), Sunkern and Slugma)
Not sure yet whether to add Alola mons so on the fence about that trio being an option. Aside from Pikachu, I'm not sure what else could be another possible starter result unless I start pulling more PMD mons. Any ideas?

Hey! Programmerfag here. I was thinking I'd love to implement a system that makes using a monotype team more attractive and rewarding.

I've got no good ideas for how, though. Maybe stat boosts for all your pokemon if you're using a monotype team? A skyrim-esque perk system that lets you improve your capability with a type the more you use it?

Anyone got any ideas?
>>
>>27811760
Let's say a building.
>>
>>27813401
How about weaknesses are diminished with every same-type pokemon you add to your team. So one fire-type would have normal weakness to water, but if you have two fire-types they are both slightly more resistant to water. A full 6-stack of fire types makes them have no weaknesses, or only a very slight weakness.

How does that sound? You could even go as far as to punish players for not using mono-type teams, like the pokemon become more weak to all attacks if they don't have others of the same type on their team.
>>
>>27768618

Cheers. Looking forward to it.
>>
>>27813401
>>27813546
Rather than punishing people for not using monotype teams, reward them for doing so. I don't know about removing almost all the weakensses for it, but I'd say make a bunch of same-type synergies so the player wants to stack a bunch of the same type.
>>
>>27813466
Each tile used in base game essentials is 16x16 and is then resized to 2x to be used in the game. If you really wanted you could use the higher resolution 32x32 for a tile, but don't mix 16x resolution with a higher res.

You can make your objects occupy as many tiles as you wish, but you'll have to bear in mind that you'll still be placing them down as tiles. You could have a postbox that's technically 1.5 tiles high, but in order to use it you still need to have it be in two separate tiles in the tileset.
>>
>>27813401
You could introduced held items that offer a boost based on the number of pokemon of a certain type in your team. Like a 5% boost to speed for each electric type in your party. A full team of 6 could result in some crazy boosts, especially with multiple copies of the item.
>>
>>27812820
You could make progression tied to pokedex completion rather than gym badges.
>>
How do I transfer the player in essentials but keep him surfing?
>>
>>27813601
>Each tile used in base game essentials is 16x16 and is then resized to 2x to be used in the game.

Let me know if I understand this correctly- in the program, each tile is 16x16, but in the actual game where you're walking around the tiles are all 2x because the screen is zoomed in?

Anyways, if you're making a big building, is it common practice to start with a canvas that has a base of 16? Or do some spriters just pick a totally random starting size and begin drawing on it?
>>
>>27813794
automatically does it for you.
>>
>>27814021
In the real pokemon games, each tile is 16 pixels wide and 16 pixels tall. Essentials uses these 16x16 tiles blown up to twice the size in its tileset. This is independent of any zoom of the screen.

That's why you could - if you really wanted to - work at a higher resolution. I think Pokemon Ethereal Gates actually does this.

> if you're making a big building, is it common practice to start with a canvas that has a base of 16? Or do some spriters just pick a totally random starting size and begin drawing on it?

It doesn't matter what size canvas you're using: the important thing is that you're aware of each tile the building occupies.

Take a look at the building tiles in pic attached: each checker square of the background is a 16x16 tile. They used this as a background to make sure they were aware of where their building tiles should go. If you're using a photoshop program you'll probably be able to find a grid option which you can set to 16x16.
>>
>>27814021
Nah, RMXP tiles are 32X32, you can't change that. The thing is that tiles in official games are 16x16 so you need to resize your tiles so they fit in a rmxp tile. The game is not zoomed in, the tiles just appear bigger because they have been resized before.

Spriter are not limited by 16x16 tiles because as the other anon said you can divide your building in as many tiles as you need. But it's good practice to keep a grid in mind for placement.
>>
>>27814099
When the player surfs into an entrance hes standing on water.
>>
>>27814021
keep in mind RMXP tilesets are usually 8x32 wide so if your image is wider than that you will have to chop the image up and re-align it.

How early is too early to get HMs like Surf, Waterfall, and Whirlpool? Alola has inspired me to plan out an island based hack for Gen 3, but I've never tried before and balance scares me.
>>
>>27816440
Whirpool is pretty weak, no? It should be fine at pretty much any point. As for the others, maybe de-power them a bit if it's a problem, or make weaker versions of them if that's possible.
>>
>>27816440
Just remember that Surf is a good water-type attack with a really good base power, so if you give it too early players will steamroll the early part of your game.
>>
>>27816440
island based game here, surf is the first hm and I made its power 65. surprisingly no real complaints about the nerf so far
>>
>>27816440
You could replace Surf with a key item.
>>
>>27772209

Are there any hacks or damages with Sinnoh, Johto, and Kanto? I remember seeing a romhack that was looking into it but I forget which one.
>>
>>27816440
I'd say the third gym would be the absolute earliest. That's the point where more powerful moves start showing up, and it can fit in with the likes of Flamethrower.

Whirlpool and Waterfall are weaker, though they both kind of require Surf. Dive does as well, though you may not want to include all 4 as that really encourages having a single HM slave for it all.

You might be able to have Surf be the reward for the second gym and still be okay, though that'd be pushing it.

You'll definitely want to be careful though, as water routes can get tedious if done wrong.
>>
>>27816516
To latch onto this, it's traditionally given out around the 5th gym and allowed to be used in the field after defeating the 5th gym.

To the hacker, you should consider reserving Surf until then and just have the player ride a boat or travel using a Lapras or something like that
>>
>>27816770

Or maybe nerf surf a bit.

Slight problem. The area circled in red. Is that an opening where water comes through? If so there should be a shadow to imply that it is. The areas circled in green don't mesh well at all and it defies the illusion of 3D space. The corners are simply meant for a cliff to change angle on the same plane but it looks like you try to make it as though the corner is supposed to raise up vertically instead but since it wasn't drawn for that purpose it looks rather unnatural. It would just be better to draw cave tiles. As for the yellow areas what are those squares? Just curious. Other than those complaints it looks overall good especially from the last image that was posted. I forgot to circle the area but from looking at the left side there are trees that are clipping in between the cliff.
>>
>>27816670
>giving Whirlpool as a TM
Don't do this
>>
First island could be starter town with a bridge to main island, main island is first three gyms that end with a boat/Lapris ride to second island, second island has two gyms that end with getting surf, then three islands that require whirlpool and waterfall. Dive for optional dungeons maybe, or elite four.
>>
>>27816817
Or do the opposite, and instead raise the base damage of everything (or the base attacks everything uses).
>>
>>27815330
Your lake is still too square. Make it rounder. Much rounder.
>>
Could the Caribbean be a good source of a tropical region, or would the Philippines/Pacific Islands be a better idea?
>>
>>27817768
Galapagos Islands would fit the themes of Pokemon (evolution and whatnot) better.
>>
How do you feel about being programmed to lose to rival characters? I'm not thrilled about it personally.

I was thinking about having trainers remember if you'd lost to them, too, instead of the "Player black out" resetting everything.

>>27817768
Well, Alola/Hawaii is already in the Pacific.
>>
>>27817768
I'd almost want to suggest Mediterranean. You might need to compress things a bit, though it might be a good way to distinguish it from the more tropical Alola.

Lets say Galopagos Island, with a big unexplored theme. No traditional starter town; instead, you come on a boat like the SS Anne that serves as the starter town. In the second town is the only real city on the island that serves as a resourt/tourist spot, and you meet a pokemon researcher who asks you to go out and catalogue the pokemon on the island for him. Each following city is just a base camp with some crucial research location or something vital like a power plant or radio tower. Challenge the strongest there for gym/research badge or something. Eventually at the fifth badge get surf and explore the other islands, while learning about pokemon that grew up without humans.

Local team wants to kick humans out of the islands before they destroy the eco-system, frequently try to sabotage stuff to make it unlivable for humans. Team leader is the guy who discovered the islands and laments telling the world about it. Culminates with trying to destroy the resort/port harbor.

Legendary Pokémon is probably a Lugia or something, hinted at from the temples found on small islands that explain the history of the islands. Mini quest to find journals from the original explorers, probably get them as part of the 'gym' challenge. Rival is a person who needs to learn humans and pokemon in harmony. Would acorns/acorn balls be a good thing to reintroduce to the game since it's only gen 3?
>>
>>27818126

I love those balls so I say yes. I would actually say it would be interesting to see the type balls over great and ultra. Adds some challenge.
>>
>>27818126
Apricorn balls sound like a good inclusion. I like the idea of a much more wilderness based pokemon adventure. It'd be fun to have to rely more on berries and apricorn balls with pokemarts being less common.

Do you guys think it's possible to make a decent rom hack using just tools (map editor, starter editor, etc) and no actual coding? It sounds lazy, but is it possible?
Bonus Question: Is their an event editor?
>>
>>27794495
Why are higher leveled ones cheaper then barboach?
>>
>>27797686
Yes, all pokemon Ds games cab be run on a computer and even phones
>>
>>27812110
It depends if you have android or ios.
Unless you jailbreak your phone you're out of luck with ios.
Android on the other hand has emulators in the play store.
I recommend MyBoy! For gba and MyBoy! Classic for GB.
You can also play NDS games on a phone so I recommend Drastic for that.

thanks, those little boxes are events.
it's supposed to give the illusion that water is coming from out there.
I think your just viewing the scenery different
from me, since I imagine it like this. With the arrows representing the water flowing into the cave, and the other two lines representing the layers of rock.

I should add a shadow though, does anyone have a transparent cave entrance shadow?

I'll put that on my to-do list. The originals come first though.

Why not just add a standard cave entrance? Unless you WANT the cave entrance to be hidden?
If so, the stack the brown tiles higher than that.

How does water move up a waterfall and into the cave, lad? It would have to be leaving the cave.
>>

Any spriting tips for drawing things in isometric view?

I can draw horizontal perfectly fine but rotate an object slightly and I have a lot of difficulty.
>>
>>27819657
>Bonus Question: Is their an event editor?
Yes, it's called a script editor.
>>
>>27822772
Look at this. you'll notice that the bottom theres an angle. The red dot is the view point, then draw two lines to make an angle. Now you have to make sure all objects have the same angle as the one you drew. Don't make any object that has a different angle or it will be out of place.

Yo, dawgs, can any of you gimme a quick description of the game. Before all else, I'm the type of guy that actually likes Reborn and Rejuvenation (I don't care if it's edgy and found 'en interesting and challenging)

So, how is Alchemist like?

I haven't been following Alchemist, but it looks like I will be, because he's taking some serious steps in managing his development progress and consumer appeal.
>>
>>27828804
I'm trying to emulate main series games

I like designing routes and cities, making teams, encounters, etc. rather than stories and im pretty sure thats the appeal of reborn/rejuvenation

you could give it a shot, there's a really good 'demo' in the game, since the first area is an pretty enclosed island and ends at the first gym
>>
>>27818347
>>27818234
Alright, good ideas. Starter town is the only one with a shop and pokecenter. Later camps have healers and the occasional pokeball crafter that you might also encounter in the wild. Big focus on collecting the numerous berries and acorns for resources. I think Secret Power or whatever it's called for building a base would be useful too, where you can set up a healing spot on the go.

>>27824550
I think there might be ruins of humans, but I don't really want any natives. Maybe this is going too Alola with the idea of divergence, but I was hoping for a nativist island game where pokemon have not encountered humans before.
>>
>>27828301
Where's the download link, senpai?
>>
>>27828927
Secret bases sound like a cool inclusion. I agree that having natives with cities might ruin the unexplored feeling of the land. Maybe use Pokemon Ranger stations in case you need a settlement or camp somewhere.

>>27828854

>>
>>27829189
Ranger camps would be good 'gyms.' The environment needs to be protected, so you have to get their approval or license to surf or do anything that messes with the landscape. First badge is the base power, and so on.

As an idea for non-linear paths, what would you think of a route where you get to choose between two HMs like rock smash our cut for a little while which determines your path? A fork in the road where you cut into a forest or smash into a cave? Later you get the second hm to go back and explore what you missed?
>>
>>27818126
I had that same idea for a long time, I always thought it would be cool if you were revealing the map as you explore it.
>>
>>27830092
To do that, you'd probably need to make whoever was giving out the HM give the player a choice as to which one they wanted, which might be a bit odd.

I think the idea of splitting and alternate paths is good though. It's always nice when things like that show up. Being able to go over, around, or through a mountain helps add variety, and you can easily encourage people to explore all three. Having side paths and caves that aren't required to progress is also nice for that.

Ranger camps sound like a good idea for Gym leaders. They can have gym puzzles that test survival skills or the like, and be the ones licensing you to go to new areas and use HMs in that way. Plus they're likely to be rather active, which could give opportunities to interact with them outside of your challenge with them.
>>
>>27828916
Pretty sure the true appeal for most players was the difficulty. Story was more like one of the bonuses like event pokemon encounters etc.

Otherwise no one would play Rejuvenation.

Eithe way, gonna test your game later

Ok so basically top down view but you move the eye perspective slightly at an angle. Like hold a piece of paper in front of your face and tilt the paper at a slight angle the bottom of the paper is closer to you then the top of the paper. I drew a picture to explain it better. Also you just have to draw the front of objects like kinda like holding a piece of paper infront of your face and slightly angle it make sure the top of the paper is close to you and the bottom of the paper is farther. draw the top of the object like a roof for example you're gonna draw it as the same perspective as the actual eye view. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the late reply, did you turn any files into pngs? I had an issue like this, I turned all the files into pngs and when I tried to build the ROM it recompressed the pngs as if I had edited them, and the image compressor pokecrystal uses isn't as good as the one Game Freak uses so it ends up creating files that altogether take up more space than they originally did.
>>
>>27835870
but then how am I going to edit the pngs?
>>
>>27835961
Only make pngs of the specific files you need to edit, and if you end up doing it to a file you aren't going to edit, just type "touch [file].2bpp.lz" in cygwin (assuming you're using Windows) so it doesn't get overwritten, since it checks which file was more recently edited when determining what needs to be overwritten.

If your edited file takes up too much space just move it to a different bank.
>>
>>27772209
so do those pokemon neo x and other variations allow you to transfer your pokemon to bank and other online features still? i wanted the alpha sapphire with may boob mod but i'd rather play x (with a boob mod)
>>
>>27836246
First, avoid Neo X, it's shit.

Second, depends on the mod. I know Eternal X and Sinking/Meme Sapphire edit movesets and base stats so they'd be right out but Star Sapphire doesn't, so it'd be good. If you just want to play a boob mod with nothing else that'd also be fine.
