I love the poison type. Gen 1 had so many top tier poison types. After that, there is only a small number each gen, with only a couple that are usefull in total. I hope we get a few nice ones this gen.

I just realized, after all this time, that goodra is not dragon/poison, or even dragon/water, but solely dragon. Wtf were they thinking ?
>>27757818
I always thought it should be bug dragon if anything because of the slug motif
I'm hoping we get an Alolan Form for Muk, Weezing, Victreebel, Arbok, or even Venomoth.
>tfw priority abusing sludge poisoning the entire opposing team with Poison Touch
Muk is fucking incredible
Yeah, now that I think about it, kanto is over run with poison types

But slugs arent bugs either.

Having a dragon poison pseudo in the gen where they introduced fairies would have been nice.
Weezing has always been one of my favorite poison types, but somehow it lost some of its flare for me when they decided to nerf explosion.
Weezing use to be such an ace mon, soaking up hits, dealing out burns and a little damage here and there, then would go out with a big kaboom and totally destroy whatever was out against it.
It just doesnt feel right to use it without explosion.

There are literally more poison pokemon in gen 1 than in gen 2-6 combined.

True, they aren't insects, but I think they fit with the bug type in the game. Types are more loose. Like spiders aren't insects either, but they are bug type

I think around half of all existing Poison-types came from Generation I, if not more.
Gen V had a golden age for Bug-types with plenty of great additions. Gen I kind of already had the Poison golden age from sheer quantity, but a lot of them have been left behind. I'd appreciate a Poison renaissance, reinvigorating old members and introducing new/uncommon combinations, but it seems unlikely.
At least Alola is giving us the fabled Fire/Poison.

We got Dragalge. A poisonous sea dragon is way better than a walking booger.
Adaptability boosts its meh Sp.Atk, and it has solid Sp.Def for dealing with moves like Moonblast. I like using it in doubles.

That's why kanto form exeggutor gained psychic type. It needed to protect its grass self from all the kanto poison mons
>>27757794
After 6 generations, how has there still not been a single Poison-type legendary?
>>27758266
Salandit seems promising, but i hope it evolves, it kind of looks meh
>>27758343
Yeah, a legendary poison would be awesome. At least we have a poison starter already
