Ash's Pikachu is the equivalent of grinding boars like in the WoW parody episode of South Park.

He's gotten 48+ badges, and fought in several conferences already. Pikachu is just Level 100 in a field of low-levelled mons. But a Level 100 Pikachu isn't THAT strong at BST 300 and no Light Ball.
